Awesome BF members!
I want to thank the guys on here that are always willing to help, never make me feel stupid for asking a question (even if has been "asked three times this week already").
A shout out to wrk101 for sharing his hard earned knowledge with me this week.
Who has helped you here at BF?

If I list people who are amazing, I'll invariably leave someone out by mistake...so many here have done me good turns. It's a great place with great people.

+10 Its a really, really, long list for me.
Special thanks to MiamiJim. He taught me several valuable lessons about flipping several years ago (raise the bar (do better bikes), keep a minimum of $100 margin or forget it, etc). He also gave me a lead on a Look Bernard Hinnault that ended up passing through several forum members.
Several forum members have taken the time to set up brand specific websites, with vintage catalogs and more (Jim's Peugeot site is one). I use the TR Findley Schwinn site all the time, and most of my searches are from the Cooper/Findley collection. I assume it has some connection with Stan. Scooper is the premiere source of all knowledge Schwinn.

+1. Just when I think he surely can't teach me anything else about old Schwinns, he proves me wrong and teaches me something else. BF members Bob Hufford and Sierra deserve credit in this department as well. BF member Metacortex is a also a wealth of knowledge when it comes to Schwinns, I've learned a lot from his posts more recently.
About all I knew about Schwinn road bikes when I started posting in C and V in 2005 was that I started riding relatively inexpensive Schwinn road bikes in the late '70's, and I liked them. I knew more about their 90's mountain bikes than anything, just because that's what I had done more recently. It's cool to learn so much about that iconic brand from these guys.
I own a really nice '71 Paramount now, I'm sure I know more about it than any of its previous owners , and I blame these guys entirely.

Canyoneagle was the first to help me out and scooper is crazy good on the schwinns. Dr. Cdale and brad helped me a lot on my cannondale. RobbieTunes has helped on various things and is very knowledgable and generous. I'm going to forget someone I just know it.
But Jim has been my biggest influence as well. I've learned a ton from him and I'm learning some of the flipping stuff too. I still pester him with $100 entry level bikes that need work lol.

Everyone here has helped me so much. I don't always ask, but have scoured the archives more times than I count. I hang out mostly here in C&V, but the Bike Mechanics forum is my second haunt. This is a great community and I am so glad to be a part of it.

Guys like BigBossman, OFG, Caterham, Jan N., TooManybikes, Jake, Rad55 and many others were the guys that always seemed to have cool projects that held my interest.
Those guys have moved on, unfortunately, but there are so many interesting characters/personalities here currently that have sustained my interest.
I hesitate to name anyone as I will certainly forget people. Yet there are those members' posts that I read very closely, as there is seemingly always something interesting to learn from so many of them.
In the end, it is nice to check in and read about the members' new finds, bike lore, tinkering, handcrafted items and good old-fashioned junk picking.

Everyone who's replied to any of my newbie posts. Or posted in other threads. This place if fantastic and I find myself wanting to find looking for strange and unusual bikes just so I can see who'll know how to fix it or where to find parts and pics.

My sentiments exactly. Whatever misguided project I bring to this place, there's always someone who takes an interest and points me in the right direction (like: "Find another beater bike. This isn't it").

Exactly.
Some time ago- Chris In Miami sent me a Mirrycle Mirror just because I asked about it.
That's set the tone for the generosity of this forum. I've tried to repay that first favor.
Just recently Aaron and TimmyT have offered me deals on handlebars. That's so... flooring to me.
People sharing their knowledge and experience- it's just invaluable. I love dddd's posts. I've learned so much from him.
Thanks to all of you that share!

Don't sweat it, I'm probably the best, at putting my foot in my mouth. I get overly enthusiastic a lot, & I'm not exactly "socially graceful" in the real world anyways, so I think I step out of line a bit sometimes (unintentionally), often without realizing until much later. I think most of us are a bunch of overgrown kids, just trying to have fun, so it doesn't seem to get taken wrong. Thank goodness.

At the risk of touting the touchy-feely stuff, I'll just say that to my satisfaction this is a community — in the best and fairest sense. I feel that I "know" so many of you. So many bits of kindness have moved me to come here and indulge my passion for cycling — despite what daily life's compression bears down around me. I recall that there have sometimes been angry words and ruffled sentiments, but it all seems to heal. The common care and concern for my family following the 2011 disasters in Northern Japan is something I will never forget. That in itself says everything I want to say.
I can single out specific 'friends' in my own mind, but as a community it would not be fair to put out names. E PLURIBUS UNUM.

I agree. And my life is markedly better because of this hobby/obsession, which I discovered here and continue to learn about here. A genuine thank you to everyone who is a part of that.

I have been many other cycling related forums over the years but it seemed every time I did a Google search for something related to bikes, I invariably ended up reading comments and answers on Bike Forums. It finally occurred to me that I should join the forum.
Since yesterday I have been feeling quite smitten with Bike Forums. First there was the random and incredible generosity of Spacemanz in which he sent me a beautiful stem that double the beauty and charisma to my bike.
I have received valuable and wise instruction and guidance from BF members that I would not ever get locally that has saved me time, money and grief.
Then, the BF Secret Santa sent me a matching Silca frame pump that simply puts it over the top.
I have the personality of a rock and the social skills of a really nice ogre. I feel more kinship on Bike Forums that I do anywhere else. Particularly in the C&V, I find that most everyone is very nice, interesting and open to sharing their knowledge and experience. I have stopped using all other forums, we have a special and unique place here. I look forward to the opportunity to make contribution equal to or greater than what I have received.
