Stay Alcohol free (14mar79) and Smoke free (20May80) Some how get on Drillium Dude's list or be adopted by him . Increase my average distance per week from 100k to 125k while keeping the time similar. Find a decent C&V bike here in Cambodia and resurrect it if I need to. And last try to get below 200lbs

1) Retire. Yes, really. Seriously, I really mean it this year. Which leads to an ability to:
2) Ride more. Retired guys don't have to ride in the morning or evening, they can go whenever the weather and spirit permits. Which means I'll:
3) Lose the 20 pounds that has been keeping me from blowing off the lean 30 year olds on the Thursday Night Grand Prix. That way I'll look super svelte when I:
4) Go back to France. Bordeaux this time, part river cruise and part just hanging out. Mrs. Doc has mentioned renting bicycles for day-long excursions. All of which results in:
5) Actually using the multitiude of French cookbooks I've purchased/been given the last couple of years. Now I'll feel better about eating that stuff!

I'm not really one for resolutions. But, I'm ready to put 2013 to bed and work hard to make 2014 a great year for my family and I.

But hopefully not impossible to attain.
Right now I sit behind a desk all day and my schedule means riding is limited to early morning from 6 to 7 am, or after work...weather permitting.
I do all of the cooking, so evening rides are never longer than an hour or Mrs. Doc gets testy.
Even daily rides and (during the winter) thrice-weekly spin sessions only keep me at par weight-wise.
I'm lighter than I was five years ago, but am convinced that the only way to get back to 180 is to move around more all day long. I figure a nice 2 hour ride each day will do the trick...

(1) Ride more; that's easy because 2013 was not a good year miles wise (otherwise it was a great year).
(2) Fix up more of my old bikes.

I think eating better will be high on my list. Somehow, that's never been a big problem, with me being thin, but I need to learn to eat the right things, & hopefully build up some more muscle, especially in my legs. That used to be my primary reason for riding, was for the physical therapy end of things, but since it hasn't killed me yet, I guess I need to get more serious about getting healthier. It's definitely going in the right direction though, my legs are WAY stronger than a year ago, before I rode much.

My resolution is to not go over the handlebars and break another collar bone. Or any other bone.
Also to learn how to build wheels. That would be awesome.

Exercise at least 320 hours (inc biking, skiing, etc) and ride at least 4500 miles.
In '13 I managed 363 hours and 5234 miles. Want to keep the goal sustainable, but I somehow manage to keep upping the goals as I go. Next year will likely be a little less mileage since my plan includes more mountain biking than last year.
Other non-bikey things too, but those seem more difficult to keep up during the year

My cycling related goals/resolutions this year are:
1. Climb some mountains (at least Wachusetts and Greylock); extra pts for anything in NH or VT
2. Join a cycling club and participate in 1 group ride a month
3. Another build; this time full 531 frame with Campy nuovo record
4. get the mileage up by about 1000; I dipped a little this year

Plan to ride/hike my way thin this year. Want to lose at least a pound a week (or preferably more, two pounds a week would get me a little past my goal of losing 100lbs). Plan to ride my Mercian Vincitore to help me get there...

Doc,
Only one way to do this, for me anyway: Pick a retirement date and immediately tell everyone you know. I'm retiring on June 6th!
This leads us to my resolution for this year: Learn to live more frugally, because Social Security isn't the big bonanza that some of the folks in Washington would like you to believe. But all the extra time for riding, cooking, photography, fishing, music, adventures with friends and family, and hiking will all be worth it! Some folks can't figure out what to do when they retire. I won't have that problem. I suspect you won't either.

Huh. Hadn't thought of resolutions till I saw this thread, and something immediately came to mind:
I'm going to take more time to get out and explore this amazing city and state we moved to way back in March. Been here nearly a year and have been focused on making ends meet and establishing a solid footing, and we've just about got that handled. So now it's time to do some Oregon!
...and of course a lot of it will be on bikes.

The usual, get myself into a shape other than round. Perhaps pear. Ride more. Dive more. Motorcycle more. Golf more. Fish more. Camp more. Drink more beer. Maybe start playing hockey again if there's time.

1. Ride more miles, raise my fitness/endurance to be a better climber. The slightest climb is a challenge.
2. Maybe get my heart checked. Hitting the big 5-0 in a month.
3. Bike tour up the Pacific coast this Spring/Summer once the property is sold.
4. Stop hooking up with sociopathic women with criminal intentions.

My bike-related resolutions are:
1. Ride more
2. Find a less rare / precious daily rider than my 1977 De Rosa, in fact perhaps something with clearance for Fenders (rain - Seattle), and lower gears (hills - Seattle). Right now I also have a 1970 Suburban, but that is more for around the neighborhood, riding on the schoolyard with my daughter. I realized shortly after purchasing the De Rosa that it I just can't ride it day-in and day-out on these gravely, wet roads, and in fact only take it out occasionally on sunny days. I'd definitely appreciate suggestions, thinking about a Raleigh Grand Prix or perhaps even a mountain bike with skinnier tires...in short I need to find a way to make #1 happen.

I'm starting my nursing program next week so I'm aiming to ride my bike at least once a week. Last thing I want to do is let my bike become a dust collector. I invested a lot of money into my bike (and accessories) and I'll be damn if I just let it sit there

1. Triple my mileage from 2013. (should be easy cause I did too much sittin' around this year)
2. Get under 200 lbs. (should be easy if I do #1 )
3. Get on Drillium Dude's potential buyer list.
4. Make sure all the new bike tools I got for Christmas and birthday look well used by 12/31/14.

2. Pass the Army fitness test (simulated... as I am an old retired guy).

Bike related:
Purge excess bike parts in garage. I will list 50 things a month on the bay, until I am back to a manageable amount of stuff I will actually use on a project ( no I am not an ebay seller, this is new to me) I did start with cranks already and so far so good. Of course any profit will go back into completing current projects.
Finish some half done projects.
Find a fillet brazed early Salsa or Ibis in my size worthy of a collection.
Ride more. Including with family.
Make it to Keyesville.

My goals:
1) no new bikes.
2) ride a full SR series.
3) ride 5000+ miles.
My current stable (and spare parts) should last me plenty of years, and I need to get in the right mindset for PBP 2015.
