Sacs maillard 600 bearing cone from 86 TREK

Looking for a "sealed" bearing cone for an old (80's) Sachs Maillard front axle. By "sealed" it implies that there is a cup incorporated into the cone for Grease retention (and dirt prevention) similar to the press-fit cups that seem to be more common in most other axle cones.

If anyone knows of a source. I need at least one. I am about to crack the rear and see what's going on in there and am hoping its not scored like the front one was. (Looks like something hard like sand got in and created a 1/4" pitting score right on the bearing surface)

Thanks

I would scrounge any local shops but out there in deliverance country they are likely few and far between. You may have to buy donor hubs from the 'bay.

It is a long shot but try Wheels manufacturing.

I may be persuaded to sell the wheels that came with my 86 Trek 400 Elance. The rear wheel is stock (Maillard to Matrix), the front is a Sovus hub with a Sun rim.

I'll have to see. I'm pretty sure Local BS WON"T have anything that old/rare. As far as buying another wheelset, I'm not sure if I want to drop that much coin into the bike or not. I burnished the bad spot and reassembled the wheel for now. I'll have to see if its noticeable under pressure of riding (I weigh 150... son weighs 97lb!) I think I have a pair of SOVOS wheels hanging in the garage. Either that or it's the set of rims that came stock on my wife's Raleigh Scott Tinley that got pilfered. She didn't like the super narrow wheels that came on it. I'll let you know (Golden Boy) one way or another.
