Wheel set shout out

Hi All, I recently received my budget wheel set from Velomine https://www.velomine.com/index.php?ma...oducts_id=2867 . For $99 + shipping this is a very nice set. They're made by Wheel Masters and proclaimed "Hand Made in the USA".

The details are well executed in that the hub is properly oriented to the rim (logo points to valve stem) and tension is pretty darn uniform. The price point looks to be met using product labor cost; the hubs are made in Malaysia and the rims in Taiwan.

Ok Brad, I'll bite. Which wheels on Velomine did you buy? The provided link is for the main page...

Let's see if this'll be correct: https://www.velomine.com/index.php?ma...oducts_id=2867 . This one is linking to the correct page for now. I don't know what happened, my apologies to the group!

Brad

PS If this goes south look at their CXP22/Sora wheelset.

Nice looking wheels. I would remove the rim markings, but that is just me.

Velo Mine is a great store. Fast shipping and great prices. I have used the "make an offer" on ebay prices as well.

Not light but should be strong and the price is definitely right. Good find.

A weight weenie would vomit! By coincidence I am doing some maintenance on an 18 year old bottom tier wheelset (RSX hubs/CXP10) that years ago I used on my older daughter's Volpe to provide STI shifting and many miles and some abuse are still smooth and very road worthy. I may do a little thread about the two.

+1 Confession time.....these are budget wheels from Velomine as well. My intent was to use them while I located a nice hub set........Turns out these are pretty bullet proof wheels! Stayed true the entire season of daily riding.

I have the same wheelset on this bike. The rims are strong and after a couple of seasons of riding still true.

Nice. I'm sending this over to a friend who's been looking for an affordable wheelset.

I have a budget set that I got from them a while back. The project they're going on stalled, but I was pleased with how true and evenly tensioned it was right out of the box.

Thanks Brad, I was looking for some Velocity Deep V's for my modern bike and they have them at a great price. Your recommendation of Velomine and others in the Clyde forum seals the deal.
