Need more information.
Is the TV in front of the bike, or behind?
If the TV is in front, you don't need the mirror, but you may get out of the habit of looking in the mirror while riding, and that would be bad. You should probably get a new mirror and put the TV behind you.

Please wear a helmet. We would hate to hear: " A cyclist was injured today as his massive guads esploded while on his indoor trainer. Reports are that he had dialed it up to 11 and hit 400 watts. He was not wearing a helmet,"

They say down here, Bob, that there is no Spring. It goes February, March, March, March and then July.
I'm with Noglider. I kind of like the snow. Spent most of my life in Utah. But when it turns to drippy, dank, dark and clammy cold, as it has today, I feel like finding a hole and a huge beaker of gin. It's a good thing I don't drink.

Your asking the wrong guy here in Central Texas - All we have to do is skip a day or two and then its back up in the 60s or 70s even in February - But speaking of this...
I am still not convinced that a hockey helmet is not as good as a bike helmet for cycling or for that matter many other things - Allot of times I am appalled at the safety equipment we have to provide for our Scouting activities - There is a separate helmet for just about everything - climbing helmet, cycling helmet, skating helmet, boarding helmet, skiing helmet, baseball helmet, hockey helmet, kayaking helmet - I am sure many of these activities could share a helmet effectively (hockey helmet in mind) allowing more funds for the real special helmets like in football...
Sorry - Not meaning to HyJack...
After my last accident I don't think I would ride without a helmet ever again - But don't get me wrong - I am not one of those mandatory helmet guys...

the only time i wear a helmet is at hockey, and this is mainly because it has a visor. That visor has probably saved me enough times from people's crazy sticks.

I rode on Friday to work, love the ride. Now we are to get another 3-7" tomorrow.....WE HAVE NO PLACE TO PUT IT!!
I had to battle cars and snow covered curbs, so riding will be out for a while.
On a positive note I did hit a cat while on the trainer....just don't tell me wife or there'll be a pile of parts and a homeless man living in an igloo in the backyard.
PS I kid on the cat thing.

The cat wasn't moving too fast, I gather? Most thing in the house don't move too fast, which is why they are so easy to run into.

Living in the middle of Canada i'm on the trainer for at least five months of the year so can sympathize. Those trainers are great but they really slow your bike down, I've been riding it since November and still haven't made it across the living room. Fortunately I have an understanding wife who's ok with having a bike on a trainer in the living room......except for when I stop for natural breaks by the side of the "road"

February is starting to get to me. We got another 6in of heavy wet snow today. This snow ain't going away any time soon. So I've been riding my bike on a trainer in the living room.
Unfortunately I accidentally knocked the mirror off my helmet. Kicked it with my foot while trying to step over something. Since I can't get out easily to replace it, would it be safe for me to keep riding for the next few weeks without the mirror, or even without the helmet? The days are at least getting longer.
