I'll mention this again.
If a forum member is really itching to buy a Super, our very own trusted forum member Vonruden has a gorgeous orange example available at a reasonable price.
I'm relatively certain he could give you any shot you want to determine if it is the right Super for you.

Edit: I found the original listing and sold indicator just now on ebay. Sorry for raising false hopes.

while I agree with the second part ...I must disagree with the first
if you have a 7 day auction you want as many people watching (bidders) that auction in the last few minutes as possible and the best way to do that is in a no reserve auction with a low starting bid ........
here is a perfect example a red colnago and the seller started off the auction at $1.00 and no reserve ...hmm as you put it " you rarely (if ever) see a bike of this so-called pedigree start at such a low opening price, especially with no reserve" but it is already up to $430.00 on 44 bids (and my program tells me there is 79 watchers) ..with this auction the last 2-3 minutes becomes a bidding frenzy because all those bidders have been staring at that frame in the watch list all week and no matter how high it is many will bid that extra 20 bucks just to see if they can steal it away from the other bidders
https://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI...m=111281207279
now on the flip side if you start the bidding out high like 424.99 like the colnago below is listed for nobody bothers watching it as it sits forgotton with 1 day left (less than 10 watchers) if he does get a bid it will only be 1-2
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Mid-...item1c3cb38008

its like gambling !!!!!!!!!!!! I saw a bike jump 600 bucks in the last minute of a auction I was watching what I was going to bid it up to was already bid higher before I could even enter it

I always want to try a Colnago but not something I can really afford at the moment. Saw this on Ebay, would this be a good one to try out. It is my size to begin with;

to me he is clueless about the bike..which might explain all the bad information ......... shipping price is very low probably used ebay calculator ................
fork seems correct for lugs and frame looks pre 77 possible 76 (any experts) ..........
like I posted earlier EVERYONE was a feedback score of +2 once ......and ebay buyer protection protects your money ( they hold low feedback sellers funds for 10 days or until positive feedback is left by the buyer)

Shipping concerns me greatly on this one.
Getting the packaged correctly would be a major concern and drawback for me.
A buyer might want to check if we have a facilitator in the Tampa/St. Petersburg area to eyeball this and arrange for proper shipping.

The detail pics you've provided show that someone put a lot of money and love into restoring/updating the frame. The gruppo choice/condition further points to someone that knows their chit. Therefore I'm completely astonished at the lack of information here. Add that to the zero seller/two buyer feedbacks and, yeah - I'm just a little wary
I've asked a few questions for the heck of it. No answer yet. I'm watching this one, although I have no intention of bidding.

I can't understand why he didn't use the new pics in the ad in the first place. They would have went a long way towards the sale of this bike, and it would have alleviated a lot of misunderstanding. Without them, he might not get any bites. I think muzpuf is right, the seller really doesn't know much about what he has.
Grady is also correct, shipping might be a big problem.
Still no bids as of now...

You always have Paypal buyer protection. Everyone else is thinking the same thing. You could get a steal, or not. When I started selling on ebay, long ago, some very expensive things I was selling went very cheap due to low feedback count. There was not the same level of buyer protection back then as there is today.

well I wish you luck ...............unfortunately you broke one huge rule ----> never post hidden gems on bike forum with links !!! there is probably 20+ members watching the auction now and by the lack of comments hoping this thread drops off view

I don't have a dog in this hunt. If someone here snags it and it ends up being legit, I'll be the first one to post an entry saying congrats and I was wrong
It's just that the auction format suggests otherwise.
How many days to go? I guess we'll see then!

i'm no Colnago 'xpert—nor an ebay pro, but my curiosities are:
• internal cable guide being added onto such a reputable, sought-after frame. (i know it could mean anything. just wondering where the courage is from sort...)
• "Q"uevas in NJ. local Ridgewoods NJ area doesn't list any bike shop named such. looks like "C"uevas—a reputable frame builder—has been operating around Queens NY +
Littleton NH area?

If purchased as a rider, it wouldn't likely bother me a whit.
As a collector, it would probably be a knockout punch.
As for mistakes in the ad, there are a few things that don't make sense.

That's another rather big blunder in this listing. Weird...

After being an ebay member for FIVE years? Not one feedback as a seller, then somehow he has a Colnago to sell? Very fishy to me. It still might be worth a flier. Just get ready for the seller to back out once he finds out how much shipping is actually going to cost.
If I was local to the seller, I'd probably bid and pick up in person.
+10 Watch for some curious "shill" bidding at the end.

Getting follow on images helps a bit. If they "are not available" then the red flags would go full hoist.
As I wrote before, if local pick up was acceptable (not indicated in the auction info) then, one could consider it in my mind.
The bike is an interesting amalgamation of periods regarding the components, a few non standard transfer placements, frame modifications (top tube cable routing) and appears assembled to me for show not use. Note the lack of any lubricant at the BB shift cable guides.
