I would have put this on the "Are you looking for one of these?" thread. It's on page one nearly every day, and not every random eBay/CL bike needs it's own thread.

My $.02

I think Bianchi slapped those on for the US market. Or, the are not original.

The Italian version of the Gran Sport has condorino bars, chain guard and full fenders.

Either way, ask the seller, he is a friend of mine and a good guy.

An integrated or hidden headset, that's Bianchi always on the forefront

I would suspect they postdate the bike by several years, the Cinelli stem looks like an '80s model.

if you look at one of the pictures the stem clearly has one of the older Cinelli Milano oval logo logos on top........so I put it in the right era

the machine's hubs look as though they may be Cidneo. they are stamped "Bianchi."

i know that the next down model, Strada, at this time came with Huret gears; what was the gear ensemble on this model?

I don't know, but the model name suggests something, doesn't it? I mean the Raleigh Gran Sport of the same era had Gran Sport gears, and I don't think it was a coincidence.

the forum had a thread on another one of these bicycles in 2009 -

https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...chi-Gran-Sport

https://www.flickr.com/photos/mikelev...7615306749390/

unfortuntely, this example has had some of its components changed out as well.

in looking at photos can see that hubs are not Cidneo but Simplex of Italy.

That is how I recall seeing only one long ago, with fenders and no drop bars.

That's my biggest complaint with the CR list. Interesting discussions & great knowledge, to be sure, but lately it seems like it's getting more and more cluttered with links to ebay/CL ads (often posted by the seller).

Nonetheless, cool bike at a very attractive price.

in this case whenever I come across a nice looking bike that I am not bidding on (too red) I try to let the bike forum crowd give it a look
