My friend's 1923 Stucchi

Too sweet not to share. He claims it to be 1 of 2 left, but he may just be extremely proud. As well as he should be.

Now that's what I call hardcore C & V. The stem and bars take cool to a new level, and the grips push it right over the edge.

I guess it just predates Tullio Campagnolo's invention of the modern cam quick release. The story is that he got frustrated with wingnuts when his hands got cold.

Now that's patina! It's a miracle that it has survived intact.
iab, is the fitting above the drive side rear dropout for a lantern?
In the frontal view, am I seeing the head tube slightly askew from the seat tube? The shadow of the brake cable may be confounding me, but it looks slightly racked to me. Hope I'm wrong!

That is a fender mount. You can see the fender stay in the catalog picture.

Fascinating bike. And a beauty too. Thanks for sharing, iab. One thing that I find rather amusing is that the add is quick to point out the made in the USA rims (or French made, but under an American name), that must really have meant something back then, maybe the same as American bike sellers proudly pointing to the Italian bike bling on their machines.

Amazing nice. Appreciate you and your friend sharing.
Look at those bones! Great angles and for 1923... surely must have been ahead of their time.
