i don't really regret selling any bike except maybe the 1981 Univega Specialissima. A good friend has it though so it's cool.

Yeah, I still check in once in a while, even though I'm not doing much in the way of C&V these days. Good to see some of the old users still around.

Mint Raleigh Super Course. Might have been my first flip. Long time ago. I don't wanna talk about it.

I can't say that I blame you - for not wanting to talks about it, that is.

In 1984 I sold all of my bikes so I could move from Nebraska to Colorado (to be a climbing bum). I was worried I wouldn't have enough $$$ to start a new life. I really do regret selling my Woodrup Giro-tour, Gitane Super Course, Lotus ???, and Mongoose Koz Kruizer. I didn't get back into biking until 2007 (if I'd kept a bike or two, I might have not lost so many years!). I also sold my stereo system which will never be replaced...
Since 2007, I have managed to find another Woodrup but regret selling off a Japanese Bianchi, a Rocky Mountain Classic, and a Trek 420 that would have been great for my wife (although the collage student I gave it to, really appreciated it!).

Cheers,
Chris

I made a little money on it and I needed a little money at the time. Figured it'd be better spent on the rusty one that I already had. Got the rusty one going and realized then what I'd let go. The rusty one is still my favorite bike despite the looks of it.

You might like to still have those bikes, but would you trade those years as a climbing bum for anything? I bet not.

I dont regret selling my Lemond

But I do now wish I had sold it to my buddy who needs a bike rather than a stranger.

There are only two:

The first bike I bought when I started flipping which had but one small decal that said Focus. Superb Pro group (I still have some of the parts) and a very nice Tange 2 frame and fork. At the time I thought it was too small, but have come to realize that it was the perfect size.

The second was a Zunow that I had for a couple of months and then flipped.

I regret selling my green Vitus 979, but only 20 years after the sale. Even back at my race weight of 135lbs I could still flex that frame enough to make the rear brake pads rub when climbing and was happy to get rid of it. Now I miss it, especially since the green is so rare, but if I had one again I'd probably get irritated by the frame flex again.

I wonder if Dad regrets trading his '63 Vette in for a 4 door Corvair when I was born.

Two that were fun, fit me, and still had original paint and mostly OE components:
1986 Centurion DS Ironman, bought new by me
1984 Trek 760. I was probably third (or more) down the owner line, but a fun refurbish.

If there's one I'd want back, probably this one. But I don't really regret it. I gave it to a friend a while back and I'd do the same thing again.

Spring of 1994 I traded away my very first real road bike (Trek with Campy Triomphe and SR filler parts, purchased new in 1985) for a full set of Jandd panniers that got fitted to my motorcycle for a coast-to-coast trip. I wish I still had the Trek, but looking back I would not trade the memories of that trip for it.
