Need help with rare model
Hello everyone. I am a first time poster...hope I follow all rules properly. I have just found in my neighbor's barn a bike that I can only find very limited info on. It is a Dossche Sport and it was imported to N.Y from Belgium in the 1950s. My understanding is the designer dropped dead after the first shipment. It appears that the grandson may still run some sort of a related business out of Belgium, but info on this bike is proving very hard to come by. I have verified that it is one of the pre-death models imported from Belgium in the 1950s and it is in almost perfect condition. I am sure it's worth a fair bit of change but have no idea where to start, what to ask etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Will post pics later tonight.

If you are seeing $$$$ then relax a bit. Collectors like rare, but like rare and interesting. I'm sure some people here will chime in. But old and rare isn't always lucrative, unless you know somone who wants it.

Plenty of info on the net. Maybe they are still in business?

+1. Add to that, what the old rich guy, who can afford it, is looking for is the bike he couldn't afford when he got his first paper route at age 14. No doubt someone is looking for the Dossche Sport he saw in a bike shop window once upon a time, but most of them are looking for Schwinn Paramounts.
