Any info on Guylaine touring bikes?

I was wondering if anyone had any info on Guylaine touring bikes from Germany? I was browsing for a new touring frame and came across this on ebay. It looks interesting with some nice touches. I really like the reversed rear brake and I have a generator that will work with the extra shifter braze on. I found out who the manufacturer was by looking up the names on the head badge but not much out there. I did find the last picture and a couple other pics showing fully loaded tourers. Guylaine was founded in 1982 by Rainer Schefzyk und Winfried Lieke near Darmstadt. It looks like they were primarily focused on touring bikes and then made racing bikes years later. They are still up and running, I found their website here and have sent an email requesting information but haven't heard back yet.

Anyone know anything about these German workhorses?

Don't know any more about them than you do, but that's a sweet looking frameset. Very much in the tradition of the French constructeurs with full integration for lights, fenders, etc.

^ I agree. I think all the extra touches are nice and make the frame unique.

I am still trying to figure out what the stud that is brazed to the back of the seat tube is for. I guess it could be an extra fender mount?

I would think that it keeps everything out of the way of racks/ panniers and also allows access for adjustment with a rack top bag. Seems smart in my opinion, unless you have a loose brake bolt..
