Tale of Three Old Raleigh Bikes...The Fun Begins...
Hi everyone...over the last couple of weeks, I acquired three old Raleighs...
1958 Raleigh Lenton Reg Harris Grand Prix, Model 7
1962 Raleigh Gran Sport
1962 Raleigh Lenton Blue Streak
All three are in decent shape...and mostly original...of course there will be some work required to make them showier and more rideable...so...a lot of project work on these! But...oh the fun that is in front of me with these!

Of those three, the Blue Streak seems to be the one that shows up least often. Nice find.

BTW...the saddle is missing on this bike, as I am working with a couple issues on the seat post...got the seat post that came out of the bike, but cannot get it back in at this point.

Three hi-ten bikes with stamped dropouts, yet they are all strangely appealing. hat's up with the chainrings on the Blue Streak? Looks like zero step gearing.

The Reg Harris is Reynolds 531 tubing, not hi-ten...but...regardless...you hit on it...they are all three, as a whole, very appealing...

Very nice. My favorite kind of bike. I've got a enton GP and a Supercourse and I don't care that they're almost identical out of the box. They're my favorite frames and I can take them apart and put them together however I want. They come out very different every time but they've still got "that feel".

Re the Gran Sport, the crankset and maybe stem/bars are wrong and the front fork may be slightly tweaked although it's hard to tell from pics. Does it have the GB Coureur centrepulls? How about the rims, are they Dunlop Special Lightweights? It does appear to have the original (and delicate) celluloid mudguards.
Sweet bikes all round though, especially the Reg Harris.

Hey, I just went down to the basement and had a good look. You can just barely make out the Reg Harris sig on what's left of that decal. Mine's a Reggy,too! I never thought to look before.
What's different about the RH model from a plain old GP other than the signature on the decal?

I'm fairly sure that all of the Lenton Grand Prix bikes were Reg Harris models. According to Peter Kohler, the LGP was made from 1958-61. The OP's is on the earlier side of that range as it has the Benelux front rod shifter. In 1960-61, Raleigh went to a cable controlled FD. The Grand Prix model first came out in the late 60s and was always a relatively low-end offering.

Dang. I was hoping I had something special. Just an ordinary old Reg Harris GP.
Mine did come with the lever FD originally. It's got some other thing on there now. It's got a lot of other things on there now.
