Anybody who knows Carbonex?
Hi all,
a few weeks back I bought a belgium made red Carbonex bike. I've never heard that name before. You?
It dates back to 1984, has 5 Suntour Vx-speeds, Weinmann brakes/wheels and a Selle Italia Anatomic saddle.
The bike is really lightweight. The plan is to keep it as a daily ride.
Further details and pics to come :-)

Is the frame steel or Carbon fiber? The name seems to hint CF. The name is not familiar. Could actually be a re-labled bike, made by another manufacturer, a practice common back then.
Can you post up some good pics of the bike so we can try to identify exactly what it is?

Edit:
Kwadie is a german bike builder from Bielefeld. They still build bikes.
I still don't have a clue what that Carbonex is all about...

Well, for sure it's not Carbon fiber, but most likely a steel bike made in Belgium, under license from "Kwadie" (if the Kwadie decal is original to the bike). Maybe someone just made up the "Carbonex" brand to use in Belgium and the bike most likely has High tensile, carbon steel tubing, thus the name which is suspiciously similar to Peugeot's using the "Carbolite" name for their own high tensile, carbon steel tubing.... So the Belgians might have taken a cue from Peugeot to name their bike and their tubing for it....
Judging from what I see in the pics, the bike is quite basic and utilitarian, but seems to be made decently enough for a "town/commuter bike". Most likely sold through a sports supply or department store, who might have also been involved in naming the bike.
