Replacement hoods for Sante levers?

This question has been posed a few times, per a Google search.

ex. Shimano Sante Brake Lever Hoods

This thread (Hoods for a shimano 600 levers) seems to have authoritative info:
6401 hoods are not the same as 6403 hoods, neither fits the other real well or at least well enough to make me happy.
Sante hoods fit 6401's perfect (look a little different though).

Most hoods I see on eBay are 6403 style. There are also some cheap 105 hoods available on Amazon.

I'm not particular on color, as it seems that several colors were originally available - I think mine are grey (not in front of me), but are sticky and falling apart.

Anyone find an acceptable replacement hood for Sante (or 6401) levers this is currently available? I'm not interested in mondo-expensive NOS hoods.

A couple layers of cork handlebar tape suffices . . .

The Sante levers ought to take one or the other of the replacement brake hoods (e.g. 6400-series or the 105-series). The 7402 Dura-Ace levers I have on two of my current bikes are compatible with the 105-series hoods, so my guess is that's what you'd want to go with.

Supposedly Sante is the high-fashion version of Dura-Ace. Works about the same, though much of the Sante stuff is post modernist ugly (IMO).
