Portland OR C&V Roadbike Ride - PedalPalooza 2014, Sun June 15th
I have put a C&V roadbike ride on the Pedalapooza 2014 calendar of bike events. The ride will meet at 10:30 am on Sunday June 15 at Velocult, 1969 NE 42nd. Here is the description -
We will meet at Velocult with our classic & vintage road bikes, to celebrate lugs, downtube shifters, sew-ups, high-flange hubs, drillium, Nuovo Record, corncobs, Bennoto tape, and the era of Merckx, Hinault, and the Other Greats. After suitable ogling (of bikes!), we will take a socially paced and shortish ride, which might include an epic ascent of Mt Tabor sans compact chainset, and return to Velocult where it might just be time for beer. I will buy a pint for the first to present with a Huret Jubilee or Campagnolo Porta Catena. Two pints for a Suicide Shifter.
Hope we have a good turnout of C&V bikes and their riders! I know we have a few Portland folks on the forum - anyone want to get a free pint off me, you know what you have to do.

Sorry, I have to cancel this ride. Life is resolutely getting in the way of cycling! I may still show up at the former appointed time/place but the way things are going, can't be sure. Will try to organize a Portland area C&V ride later.

Yes, I'm really sorry. Life things have been crazy, I was getting exhausted, and thought there was no way I'd be available to lead the ride. Sure enough, I'm sick in bed today :-(

I might join you for your rescheduled date, but my Superior restoration is stalled due to an empty wallet. I hope you don't mind my anti-C&V bike, the polished aluminum Gold Rush recumbent.
