As for suggested routes...
Thanks, jyl! I'll drop you a PM before I come up. It would be fun to get together for a ride if our schedules mesh. Hope you all have a great time on the 26th.

@michael k - I'll be there in cargo-ish shorts, although not flip flops. Could we tempt you with offers of some good Velo Cult drip coffee???

You can ride with a coffee IV drip. We'll mount a pole on your bike to hang the bag.

Is the emphasis of this "ride" C&V or Coffee.

Mods = move this thread to the CAFFEINE sub-forum

edit: Wait - there IS no Caffeine sub-forum???!!! Doping and health&fitness don't feel right.

@jyl - I've been keeping my eyes open for a wool jersey, but haven't found any that look good (vintage, of course). The ones online all seem to be tailored toward guys.

Sorry I can't go. Only 3 years too late! There are some great country rides on the west side of Beaverton/Aloha. Mapped out 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 mile loops. Use to do them regularly while unemployed (why I left after 30 years)!

Have a great time!

I admit I don't know anything about tailoring and the difference between men's and women's cuts. Traditional bike jerseys always seem like they'd be pretty form fitting regardless of the form - male, female or (me) sausage.

Guys I am definitely in, got a room at the Ace Hotel and will see you all at 1000 on Sat. I'll be on a black Surly re-tagged as the "Infidel." Not so vintage, but in my travel status I only have my "Glock of bicycles." Sports DT shifters as a nod to the classics though.

Glock of Bicycles - funny!

One last bump for reminder.

I've just printed out our route maps and will see you all at Velocult 10 am Sat July 26. Look for wool jersey in French blue, says "Cycles Catieau". (Unless we are having another freaking heat wave in which case I will not be wearing wool, no matter what the wool devotees say I fear it will be hot.)

I was hoping to get down there but couldn't get on the road early enough. Definitely a nice morning for riding. I'm just headed out for a slightly warmer ride

@LesterOfPuppets - We had a wonderful ride. JYL planned a ride that was both scenic sprinkled with a few moderate (for me) challenging hills. I believe there were ten folks, not all from this forum either. There were at least 4 "regroup" spots where folks waited for everyone to get back together, then start out again. Lots of interesting vintage bikes to look at - wish I had looked at more of them in detail. Drillium Dude took a group photo and, although I didn't ask him, suspect he might post it here. Velo Cult was a great starting/stopping point also, so we mingled, drank coffee and talked "shop" (aka bikey stuff). I was initially nervous to attend, as I'm not an experienced group rider, but everyone made it really fun and I hope we can do an "Autumn Classic & Vintage" ride.

Hope to have an opportunity to meet you another time. Cheers.

Definitely a good ride. I'll look forward to another edition- one of the recumbent group has her old tourer that she rode the Bikecentennial route in 1976.

@Jeff Wills - I meant to ask you if your recumbent had a clear coat or any protectant on it? A really interesting looking bike. Also what year is it?
