1974 Falcon Olympic Austin Powers's bike..... God Save the Queen!

Before and after pics of my '74 Falcon Olympic.
Some of you might ask....WHY? My answer is ..... Because I Can!

Added.
Campy NR; FD, shift levers, RD and crankset.
Campy BB and top tube brake cable guides.
Campy/ Mavic wheelset.
Panaracer Pasela Tourguard tires.
Selle San Marco Rolls saddle (Limited ed. Union Jack).
Replacement Decals and new bar tape.
Generic fluted seat post.
Speedplay Pedals.
I am the second owner of this Falcon Olympic.
The frame, fork and stays are Reynolds 531 single butted tubing.

1973 Falcon Olympic Photos by Frogbutter | Photobucket

This project started when I broke the right shift lever. Plus I had never been happy with the missing decals so one thing led to another and before I knew it I had a box of parts marked '73 Falcon.

Before.....

After.....

I DIG that saddle man ! San Marco to boot, those are great saddles regardless of how they are decorated. Wish I could find me a Falcon as well. I say this knowing that I have to move all my bikes and parts very soon in this sudden-to-me move... and know it can't be done.

Nice project, Frogbutter

"Do they have a Fourth of July in England?"

"Yes, between the Third and the Fifth."

i sort of like it. i mean, i love these early '70s falcons, but the paint confuses me, especially with these decals.

Ha I had not even thought about that. I started the tear down on Fathers day a few weeks ago.
I had all the parts needed except the
BB I secured from "mapleleafs-13" via this forum.
Campy Top Tube Guides from "lostarchitect" from the forum also.
Bar Tape from The Yellow Jersey Bike Shop.

I had the day off today so I put it all together.

not to rain on your parade (or on that veddy smaht saddle!) but the Olympic (AKA model 78, gent's frame) was plain-gauge 531, not single-butted.
God speed...
