    Bianchi Broadway mountian bike upgrade

This week I picked up a 1986 18 speed Bianchi Broadway with rusted components. I'd like to take the bars, stem, seat post, Shimano Altus components and Araya 26x1.5 wheels from my 1992 21 speed Roland Country and use them on the Bianchi. The Bianchi has a lugged frame with "high tension B special tubing". The Roland has cro-mo O.S. tubing welded at the joints.

Am I being reasonable or just wasting my time?

I'm not in a hurry. 14 speeds are enough for me.

Keep the Roland together Asia's chromoly compared to bianchi's cheap hi tensile steel. That's just my .02 in the end its whatever bike fits the best.

I agree. Strictly from a quality point of view the ChroMo frame on the Rolland is better than the Bianchi. I'll have to look it up but I belive the Broadway was a pretty low end no frills bike.

    Thank-you, Henry and Bianchigirl.
