Bar End Shifter Question

I am looking at my Fuji S12S and have been fiddling with the bar end shifters. The Suntours are OK, but I must admit that the DiaCompe/Rivendell bar ends I have on another bike are smoother and easier to use. But.....has anyone used say Shimano downtube shifters in a Riv shifter pod? I like the length of the of the old downtube models. They are longer than the Suntours, shorter than the DiaCompe. The DiaCompe/Riv modes also stab you in the knee if you don't pay attention.

Sure - Shimano SIS DT shifters work fine in bar end pods. They will stab you in the knee as much as the Silver ones though.

Jeez. At least the ends are flatter! I am going to use the Shimano in friction mode as the rear cogs are Suntour. Different spacing I think.

You need the flat backed shimano mounting plate.
