That color looks familiar. I'm thinking it came from Shawn's "orange period."

My Gazelle turned out beautifully as well.

Pics when you are ready please.

There is a late fifties Super Corsa with a Brian Baylis paintjob in that color that I have seen in pictures. It is a beautiful bike.

So you replaced the bar end shifters. Was it this one that had very poor wrapping when it was sent to you?
    Plans for it?
It's 58.5 c-t. The stem is some later 3ttt job with an allen key.It is that same bike ,that picture was taken while i was still tearing it down, the bar end was on my bench. It will go back on.

As far as my plans go, I am going to give it a sympathetic refurbishment, i.e. no paint and keep as many parts as I think are original. Then I'll keep it till my plans change. I am in the middle of a house renovation right now so nothing is happening quickly.

The frame came from a fairly well know vintage bike guy in Colarado and he told me that Brian Baylis did the paint so you have a good eye! I like the color as well, it is different but works well on an older Cinelli.

Thanks! Been wondering about that for years.

An early-mid seventies S.C. in silver is my grail bike. Too much $ for my budget though.

Yes, I'm as fast on it as any bike I've ever had. Yes, it rides like a Cinelli. Yes, it climbs like a dream. No, I didn't sell a kidney for it.

But, I did stalk it for two years, turn down the entire bike when it had Dura Ace, and waited until he bought a house and needed money.

Beautiful. A black Cinelli is very striking. I like the classic colors but this is really striking.

Restored '72 SC using only NOS parts - never ridden. Slowly grinding my way to a period-correct restoration - final couple of correct parts to find.
Really loving the early Cinellis on this thread - beautiful

Yet another Milanese confection. Mid 1970s, barely ridden. It hangs on the wall at work and I admire it every day.

Wow, that was an ambitious restoration. Repaint? Any photos before you started?

I am looking for an early 70s Fiamme Red label wheelset on Camp Record LF.

It was a complete re-finish. Frame was very straight but several coats of repaints (entombed in paint) Was my first vintage build - if I had known how challenging getting NOS parts for '72 would be when I started I would have fudged and done a '73 restoration. Very rewarding and enjoyed the process of learning and making contacts all over the globe

Funnily enough probably a simpler task - the parts are no harder to find and it is more straightforward to determine what was period correct in 1971 than 1972 IMO. 1972 turned out to be a big year for changes in components by Campy and Cinelli some of which made it out of the factory that year and some which appeared in catalogues and started manufacture but didn't appear in shops until '73 - I spent a lot of my time just trying to confirm what version of component I was meant to be looking for. This was actually also the enjoyable and rewarding aspect. I probably ended swapping out a third of all components at some point when I discovered I had the wrong version. Have a nice box of left over '71 (and '73) parts right here next to me As I learn more there may be one or more to go yet.

Cinelli Tramisu - could this bike have THE largest decal?

I purchased this early this season and its been simmering till I decide what to do with it. I doubt it has collector value but then again it could be rare enough to keep unaltered in good shape. I'd be interested in hearing from anyone with info on this model. Original owner said all his buddies bought Stumpies and he bought this. Think he stood out a little?

Yes that's a Deadhead sticker on the head badge. I believe there was a post somewhere on the forum that may have had a pic of this bike, but the pics were no longer available to view - which makes me wonder if there's a suggested policy of how pics are posted so they are not expired for reasons of of non-member status, or because of a link to a defunct site...what a waste to see this happening on a site that is like an archive of bikes and biking DSC06339 - Copy.jpgDSC06344 - Copy.jpg
