Keep those Weinmanns if you're going with non period correct. I think they're way better than Mafacs. Get something correct after you get it redone. I'm using Resillions just on the front when I get mine back from paint. Gus Salmon made the decals so if you need some he'll have most of the art already done.

GB made some nice brakes in the old days. A set of GB Sports wouldn't look so out of place on a machine like that. I have a set on my Claude Butler and they seem to stop quite nicely.

GB also made a nice centerpull- the GB Coureur 66, which has the greatest braking power of any of the vintage brakes bar none. A lot prettier than most centerpulls too.

Thanks Matt. I've been looking for resilions but they seem to be tough to find. I'll keep Gus Salmon in mind for decals, I'm not familiar with him... who does he work with?

Very cool Bates! And awesome that it fits you so well.

What's unclassy about Weinmanns? Raleigh put them on the International, and it's pretty classy. (Not Bates classy, but still...)

:)
