Vintage Brooks Leather Bicycle Seat Raleigh Schwinn Phillips Robinhood | eBay

hello,up for auction is a vintage Brooks B72 leather bicycle saddle and 1" seat post.It is in great condition.with a few minor blemishes and rubs.It was removed from my ex-wifes Raleigh when new.Her Butt cheeks were so big we had to mount a volkswagon beetle seat on her Raleigh. It never did pedal right. This seat is perfect for an old bike restoration or just to upgrade your old bike seat.Thank you

Aside from the size of the wife's backside, one has to ask: if the saddle was removed from the bike when new, how did it get ruined? The tear in the rivet on the nose piece is not cosmetic, that's serious damage.

Hah, fair enough.

If you gave me that saddle, I would use a few parts and save a little money, as follows:

Tension pin, new, from Niagara: $5.58
nose, new, from Niagara: $3.60
Eyelets from the bag loops... otherwise unavailable, difficult to remove intact, available from Brooks, GBP 1.90

The frame no doubt has some value, but only to someone who needs one; and I have lots of them.

Add it up, factor in the effort to remove the usable parts, account for some rust and some damage, and ... well, if it had a good badge on the back, it would definitely be worth the cost of shipping it to me, but without it it's cutting pretty close to the break even point.
