you can buy these in junk shops in the uk £20 or so in near mint condition!

Yeah, I bought one just like it for $15.00 at a garage sale.

I dunno about where you guys live, but around here it's become the hip, scenester thing to ride an old, geeky road bike while wearing your white belt...

I still don't think many scenesters would cough up three bills for something you can find on ebay for half that.
