Davis Lindley! I have a bootleg taken off the board at the Santa Cruz Catalyst with Hani Naser in 1991 or 1992. Here is a YouTube from Tokyo of one of the songs they did; More Than Eva Braun

San Fran bands had their own distinct wavelength(s). I once saw the Tubes, and the Whipping Lady, in full leather, rode Fee Waybill around the stage like a horse. He, dressed only in a diaper. My date of the evening was aghast. Good way to sort out the wheat from the chaff on a date.

The guy was amazing in a bizzare sort of way. Zappa/Beefheart LP was a big mainstream stretch for Beefheart.
