New stuff for an old frame!

    2014 Athena Alloy Groupo

    DSCF0001.jpg

    Modern Mavic Ksyriums

    DSCF0002.jpg

To go and replace all the components on this C&V for a full restomod!

    DSCF0004.jpg

Hopefully the C&V crowd approves and does not crucify me.

All the vintage 80's Campy Athena and Vento wheel set will be released into the world for re-use on someone else's project.

Keep it if you have the space to store it.

I think most here will approve your modernization. In fact, many of us have done similar upgrades to older frames. It can breathe new life into an older bike.

When you start tossing those crappy old parts in the trash just put them in box for me. I'll pay shipping.

But... But... I won't ride old bikes because I want something I can easily get replacement parts for!

I like the old rims better, but otherwise looks like a great plan!

A Campy modernization is almost always a good thing. Especially when it's all silver.

Made time to finish the rebuild this past weekend. Have been busy with job interviews. Had my LBS install the BB, crank, cassette along with the chain, due to tools and experience I just don't have. All else I did on my own. That is another reason this took a while. Wheels have been liberated of all decals except the hub decals. That alone took three hours! I am pretty horrible at installing bar tape for some reason, but I really dig the results with the Cinelli cork look gel tape.

Dropped around 2.5 lbs. from the old set-up. A touch under 20 lbs. now with the pedals.

Have gone on a couple shake down rides and everything works brilliantly, but may need some possible high/low adjustments on the RD. Will probably replace the quill stem with alloy finish VO face plate style, once I decide if the reach needs to be changed.

Heading out for long ride Tuesday, Johnstown to Balckhand Gorge and back.

Previous set up below, all old components are up for for a new home.

It looks good. Much better than all those black carbon this carbon that bikes.

    Thanks!

If you want any of the old groupo or wheels, let me know. We can discuss price.
