Can anyone identify this Monster bike ???

I posted this beast on the mountain bike forum to see if anyone could identify it & was told to drag it over here.

Anyone know what this bike is or was ??

Frame size 24 inches & stand over 35.25 nut-crunching inches.

All decals were removed. It has the Deore SIS group and RM-20 Araya alloy rims.

Can't ID it, but I think I want to know too so I can find one myself.
A mountain frame that might actually fit me well...
You mentioned the seat tube is @ 24", but what is the top tube C-C?

Good looking bike.

Miyata used that rear brake. Late 80's, maybe 90's?

Chainstay brakes were a fad with MTB manufacturers from 1986-1988 and were mostly gone by 1989. How did such a bad idea get so popular? They're really a pain when the bike has horizontal dropouts and no provision for adjuster screws since you have to get the wheel in exactly the right spot every time or the brake pads hit the rim in the wrong spot.

the biggest mtb of that vintage, which I've seen posted on bf, was a panasonic. but it was lugged

Panasonic MC-4500 - Pedal Room

looks like in 87 the mc 6500 came in 24in with those rims

You should post it to the chainstay brake mafia group as someone may be able to ID the bike, https://www.bikeforums.net/groups/cha...ake-mafia.html.
