While the subject of vintage titanium frames is being discussed in another thread, I thought this might be a good time to ask about a late 1990's/early 2000's titanium road bike I bought off an individual in Lebanon, Ohio - a "Veritas" which I was told was sold by Bob Duncan Training Systems".
This is a really nice size 54 road bike with a 55.5 top tube. It has a Tom Ritchey carbon fork. The frame is a matte finish with the Veritas logo and tube ends polished. It was a complete bike with Dura Ace 7900 10 speed groupset. The bike is too small for me. I bought it because I thought a 5'9 coworker of mine would buy it. Well work got tougher and free time more scarce so the bike only got test riddled a few times. Ybody
I saw one other Veritas on eBay - a painted Titanium time trial frame that may have had 650 wheels. Mine is standard 700c. The rear dropouts look similar to other modern road frames I've seen by Salsa others with a sort of flared semicircle which houses a vertical dropout.
So... , can anybody help me with the provenance of this frame.
BTW: the previous owner had a problem with galvanic corrosion of the seat tube to the seatpost. The bike shop in Lebanon, Ohio was able to remove the original corroded (oversized) one, sleeve it and now use a standard 27.2 one with Ti paste slathered all over the sleeve and post.
