Opinions on color matched frame pump wanted

I am in the process of painting my ’73 Raleigh Pro and am debating on whether or not to paint the Silca frame pump to match the seat tube. If I do it I would duplicate the silver bands from the seat tube as well as the Carlton decal. If you think it would look good do you think I should duplicate the Reynolds 531 on the pump?

I love seeing a frame pump painted to match the bike it is on.

I say forego the 531 decal.

Yes on duplicating the paint. I would opt for only the Carlton decal and no 531.

Yes. Spray the pump at the same time. I didn't spray this frame but did an "almost" job of matching the old paint. Close but no cigar.
Looks OK from 20 feet.

For fun I added a small Moto "M" crest.

Paint only. Carlton & Reynolds didn't make pumps.

Raleigh didn't supply color matched pumps. It's okay for a custom job, but not when you're trying to do an authentic restoration.

Just my opinion, for what it's worth.

I like the chrome Silca pumps. Lightens the look and brings some bling.

The nice thing about painting the pump to match is, it's not permanent. If you get tired of it all you have to do is take it off or swap on a different pump and put it back on when the mood strikes. Go for it.

This Silca isn't an exact match but it has a nice stripey decal in various shades of blue:

My vote would be to go with the primary color of the bike, retain the silver on the pump (if any).

That's no fun. Gitane didn't make pumps, either, but I like the matching decals I made for frame and pump.

I like the idea of matching the pump color to the frame color. CyclArt used to offer an optional color-matched Silca pump with their paint jobs, but I guess the supply is running low.

It's just a personal preference detail kinda issue.
I don't need the redundancy. And not because it's a violation of an authentic restoration.
I vote paint to match frame and include the stripes, if it floats your boat.
Here's my AD with (almost) matching frame pump. The pump came on a different vintage bike.

I had a little fun with my 1981 chrome Fuji Pro. It had already been repainted once, I stripped that off just leaving the painted seat tube band. I had some extra FUJI decals so I matched the blue as best I could and repainted a Silca. Creative license!
