All my bikes are vintage and I doubt I'll ever have a new bike. I commute on a '66 Raleigh Tourist and take my '85 Trek 760 out for fun. I'm in the process of getting a '77 Trek TX300 ready to be my winter bike for both commuting and longer rides.

I ride my older bikes (keeper fleet is @7 ) around the nieghborhood from time to time, but the main squeeze is a 2009 CAAD 9-5 . Just a great bicycle.

all but one of my bikes is older than 1994. So in answer to your questions ... Yes and Yes.

I've got a year old Specialized 29 Hardrock, converted to drop bars and 9 spd. Tiagra STI's with some C'Dale ergo bars, 31.8 stem, Rockshox Reba fork, Avid BB7 discs, tubeless Schwalbes, and so on. I want to put it all on a 853 frame.
Next down from that is my fat tire single speed 2008 Schwinn SS, which is a joy to ride. It holds a line like it's on rails, and handles like a 29er mtb. It's also converted to drop bars.
Third newest is my 01-03 all steel Lemond Tourmalet (853 main tubes). I am going with 8 speed Dura Ace on original red anodized wheels Cinelli stem and bars. I need a DA crank and a few other bits to be complete. Meanwhile a Biopace 600 fills in. I should be riding it Saturday if all goes well.
After that, the stable drops to early to mid 80's, and back as far as 64ish, an Olmo Special frame. I have a few bits of 30's to 40's stuff, but nothing worth mentioning.,,,,BD

All I have and ride is steel. I have rode a Carbon Specialized Something or other, it had Di2. I was not impressed.

A classic? I'll take it ! I bought it because I heard it'd be a bullet-proof commuter and it's scaring me because I'm starting to like it even more than my Super Six Evo :O! It's not as fast, but I'm way more willing to push it to its limits!

I'm the original owner of a 2011 Surly Cross Check with Nitto moustache bars, a B17 Special and custom wheels (H Plus Son "Archetype" rims, Suzue high flange Classica Road hubs along with Vittoria Hyper 700c x 38 rubber). It's super responsive and plush, and the only bike I "trust" since I know it's history.
I rotate the bikes I ride and love the '92 Hardrock because of the 7 speed RapidFire shifters, and also the hot pink to purple fade. Gets a lot of attention. My friend emailed me with a link to some local guys Flickr acct. and there was a picture of my bike!
I ride the Bigfoot a lot because it's solid, sturdy, plush...think the wheelbase is just over 49". It's scratched up with patina, but the paint on it shimmers in the sun. A broken in B67 & Albatross bars top it off to be very comfy. Plus I don't worry about it getting scratched.

Still my only rides. I kind of considered a more contemporary upgrade but decided I didn't really need one for the kind of riding that I do.

I use my 1993 Bianchi Advantage and 2012 Giant Rapid 2 as my commuters bikes at the moment. I am not sure how you distinguish 'fun', but I enjoy riding them both. Once my 1987 Gardin is completely assembled, I might regard it with a bit more pride as it was the bike that I rode in my youth. But as for fun, I'm not so sure. If it makes me feel 17 again, then yeah, sure.

Most of my riding in the country is handled by my new Trek Domane. I have taken the '84 Pinarello on group rides. I've ridden the Gardin Shred in town but will probably take it on some of the flatter group rides.
All of my riding is for fun. Being locked into a fast paceline can be fun but not for very long and it prevents me from waving at the cows and horses.

I have a vintage 2010 folding bike that I ride quite a bit, mainly for commuting in the summer. Folding bikes have been around for many years but I've never seen a C&V folding bike that was really much good in both the folding and the bike aspects.
I also have an unidentified junk MTB with an Xtracycle attachment that I use for lugging stuff around (mainly getting me and my beekeeping equipment from home to the apiary). It's aluminum, so it can't be too old, and I don't know the make, but it's definitely not a classic. And I don't care. It's just a utilitarian beast, not something I ride for fun or take pride in.
Beyond that, yup, just old bikes. I haven't yet ridden a modern bike that's actually more fun than an old one.

The majority of my riding despite my ever growing stable is on my 83-84 Centurion Turbo.. there's just something about the ride of that bike that I love. I've got much lighter/newer bikes.. but the only one that holds a candle to it is my 2013 track bike.. and even then that takes a certain mood to take out for a spin. I'm sure he's sick of it.. but every time I think of how much I love that bike I have to thank @RobbieTunes

I just had a custom built, but before that '89 was the newest bike I had owned.
My commuting generally rotates between a few purpose built or more geared towards the purpose bikes. I leave work at noon on Fridays and will mix it up.

I have a modern steel commuter/hauler that bought before I discovered C&V-land. I built it up to suit me (rack, fenders, wide Vittoria Rando Pros, Selle Anatomica saddle, "Mary" clone handlebars, ergon grips, etc.), and I really like it. I find that indexed shifting is nice to have when riding with traffic. But now that I have a young one in the house, my commute is sometimes the only riding I get in. So lately I have been commuting on my favorite bike, the Semi-Pro. And that has been lovely. It only has the smallest Carradice saddlebag, so I need to do a bit of planning and keep shoes and an outfit or two at work. Or if necessary I can ride with a backpack, but I try to avoid that.
In the darkest part of winter I put studded tires on the High Sierra and that gets ridden the most. Also a great bike.

I recently noticed that I rarely get on my bike for fun. I have enough occasion to ride to go places, and I have fun in the process. No regrets! Well, I guess I'd like to take a few more rides than I do, but I do take a few.

My "newest" is an 89 Bottecchia SL/Chorus. Needs a new wheelset as I was hit by a car about three weeks ago. Just started riding again, feeling very lucky to have escaped with only a dislocated shoulder.
Most of my time is spent either on that bike or my '84 LeTour. To be honest, though, I haven't met a bike I couldn't have fun on.
Just got a "modern" steel "track" frame to try grass track racing with, though. Once that's built up my all-C&V card will be void.

Technically, I only have one bike that is actually mine, my 1984 Bridgestone 400. It is my dry-weather commuter and fun/group ride bike. I also have a few modern folding bikes on loan (indefinitely) from my dad, who decided he had too many bikes. I use a 2012 Tern Joe C21 26"-wheel folder as my wet-weather commuter and when transporting by car and boat. While I love the look of lugged steel frames and I even like the simplicity of friction shifters, really I'm drawn to older stuff mostly because I'm cheap and it has good value.
