Good thing it has a rocket-shaped gas tank. Otherwise that bike would create a lot of wind turbulence.

ha, those brakes. And to think it was clutchless, too. With manual ignition timing. Definitely a thing to go, not to stop.

Thanks for pointing that out, I hadn't noticed. That would be logical considering how large the pulley needed to be with a piston stroke that long.

My all time favorite sound is a recording of a Merlin powered Indy car. No video, just sound, incredible.
BTW: I bought a bike this summer from a guy who had an Ofenhauser engine block as a mailbox. The engine was used in the 1968 Indy 500. Years ago, the Offy was an engine I actually heard, close up! Sweet!
