Bianchi Main Street Hybrid

Hello,
First of all, a Big Thank You to all for sharing so much of your knowledge on this forum. I have started biking at the early age of 52, and I am learning so much.
I have the opportunity to purchase a Bianchi Main Street Hybrid in "Fair" condition. I have searched for any information on this model, but have found very little.
I am assuming it is from the '90-'91 years. Does anyone have any information about this model?
I ride mainly on roads, but would like to purchase a bike that I can also ride on the C&O Canal towpath which is mainly gravel/dirt. Is this a model that you would consider for this type of riding?
The asking price is $75. It appears to have the original components.
Thanks,

Is it aluminum? I had a Bianchi Adventure Hybrid pass through my hands last year, probably a very similar bike. Comfortable, takes 35C or more tires, and entry level Shimano Altus or Alivio components. It rides nice and is suitable for day trips, but if I were carrying a full touring load, I would want a more robust steel framed bike and better grade components.

If you can find a mid 1990's TREK hybrid for about the same price, I would be all over it.

A fair deal for $75, it may require regreasing the wheel bearings, and lubing the chain and cables.

That looks like a midnight blue '92, and looks to be full ChroMo frame and fork. I agree with OddJob it could likely use a good tune up and the bearings regreased, especially if it has been sitting.

Looks smallish? does it fit? $75 seems like a good deal for that and should make an excellent beginners bike for rides along the canal or other bike trails.

Thanks Bianchigirll,
I got to see it last night. It is full ChroMo. I'm 5'-10" and I have about an inch clear at straddle height with a 32 inch inseam. As shown in the photos, I will have to keep the seat at this height or a little higher. I hope this doesn't require a longer seat post. I didn't buy it yet because I really wanted to hear some opinions from the Forum on whether or not this bike could withstand trails like the C&O Towpath, or if I should wait and try to find something a bit sturdier for trails.

If I do get it, I will definitely get it tuned and re-grease the bearings.

Did you buy the bike? Has it held up well?
