Help me pick a color on my Merckx professional

I keep going back on forth on colors, I still need to add a top tube cable guide, but I'm trying to pick a color. I have a nice chrome yellow that I just painted a Torpado with. I have metallic blue that I painted a Colnago and a metallic silver that I used on a Ciocc and a Croll. I'm also thinking of doing a Molteni replica. And lets not forget about performance red. I have painted several bikes with this and it looks nice. Whats everyones opinion on a good color for my Merckx. Thanks

So far I'm leaning towards silver, I would like something like my old Ciocc

heres the yellow

and the blue

Wishing I were sloar's buddy so I could get him to paint some of my old bikes. Nice job on those bikes, . Molteni orange is the way to go on the Merckx at least if you want to go fast.

He has a Molteni orange Merckx.

My vote is for yellow, as there was a Molteni yellow jersey on display at B.A.M.F.

However, I'm partial to silver with red panto.

Silver, but look closely for pics of early 80s Professionals.

Go for a match. Try really hard.

That's what I would do.

Well, if Sloar already has a Molteni orange Merckx, then I'm with you on the silver with red highlights. Judging by his other frames, whatever colour he choses, the finish will be immaculate.

Take some of the clear coat layers off your silver and a little less metallic sheen for a Merckx.

Look at House of Kolor paints.

Splurge. It's worth it.

Edit: Check out their "peugout silver gray poly" and see what you think. I'm not looking on a large monitor, but it might be close enough to consider.

+1 on the layers.

The early 80's were about paint, not clear.
Coverage was good, protection not quite so.
One layer of clear would be about right, for the era.

However, if you want to ride it a lot, protect away.

On a frameset this nice, try a sample first.

Also, search the web for pics of the Merckx silver/gray if you go in that direction.

Lots of samples out there.

If you already have a Molteni Orange bike I would do a Faema white replica!

I've also considered the white with red faema colors. See that's why I can't decide, to many nice options.

Or the 7-11 color scheme.
I know it is late 80s, but that's a classic Eddy color scheme for me.

Not a scheme that was originally offered, but this repainted Merckx in "root beer & silver" from another thread holds a special place in my heart:

I highly recommend Al, he was a pleasure to work with. Although it may take a while for him to finish the frame, the wait was worth it (~3months).
