Steel Land Shark-ugly color-but a bargain
Picked this up pretty good price. I think because the color is so ugly, however, rides sooooo good that I dont mind the color. I was looking at some other pics of Landsharks on the web and I did see another one...same color!!! I think that would be the last color I would choose for a bike. Will not have it repainted however, I think the color may grow on me-like moss??

That color seems prett British-classy to me. Keep your eyes on the road and let us know how it rides.

A new pair of skinwalls or all cream tires will make that olive green pop. Honey saddle and bar tape too. Enjoy!

I'm thinking your right oddjob. That color may be just what it needs. Took it for a 60 miler today and it was superb. No complaints about a thing as far as rideability.

I love it.
Saddle, bars and stem would have to go bye-bye and I would update the tires.
Other than that, very cool.
How come we never see those up here in the prairie?

I think they are made in Oregon right? Solyent green...mmm that's a new one to me. I was thinking olive green or Army green for sure. Vonruden has the bomb there. That orange and lots of chrome. That is one nice Shark. I bought mine from this guy on craigslist who said his wife gave it to him two years ago, and that she paid two grand for it. I'm thinking, right. She certainly didn't buy it new, especially with those twenty year old shimano parts on it. At any rate, I didnt argue with him, I just bought it, and now i'm riding it.

It's a 56. I'm pretty sure that the chain stays look short because of the angle I took the Pictures at. Pretty normal geometry on that. The bars are really wide however.

Soylent Green
PG 1973 ‧ Thriller/Drama ‧ 1h 37m
In a densely overpopulated, starving New York City of the future, NYPD detective Robert Thorn (Charlton Heston) investigates the murder of an executive at rations manufacturer Soylent Corporation. With the help of elderly academic Solomon "Sol" Roth (Edward G. Robinson), Thorn begins to make real progress -- until the governor mysteriously pulls the plug. Obsessed with the mystery, Thorn steps out from behind the badge and launches his own investigation into the murder.

I kind of remember that movie. Wasn't it about making bikes into food for the masses, or something like that? I dont care how hungry I got, I would never eat my bicycle. Maybe a tire or a tube perhaps.

I would not eat my bike or people. The movie is about lack of natural food, but found humans were a better subsitute

I saw the green 'shark a few times on today's ride, and it really stands out. Not such a subtle color at all!
I thought the bike looked really cool, because it was immediately recognizable as a good bike with a fine paint job, and not perhaps a repaint of any old frame.

In the 3rd photo, even in the shade, it looks like a rich, not too bright green. I agree with @oddjob2 in his recommendation of colors for saddle, bar tape and tires with at least some cream/tan on them.
I'm not familiar with land shark and I'm a native Oregonian. Now I'm going to have some research to do.
Alright. Got it.
