Check out this ride. I plan on doing it for the 5th year in a row.

2014 Katy Trail Ride | Missouri State Parks

You want to sign up on the first day which should be March 1st as it's been known to fill up in less than 4 days. The URL for the 2015 ride should be the same except for the 4 - 5.

One difference it that the ride will start in Clinton and end in St. Charles in 2015 so you'll need to be in St. Charles early on that Sunday if you plan on using the bus on the way back.

Finding a way to have my wife enjoy the tandem.
For the above, to match her ladies B-17 Imperial would like the same in mens / black.
A barn find vintage tandem with drop bars including the misery of quirky derailleurs, crankset, brakes, etc.
A Cambio Corsa project.

Well, I need everything really. Those were the sellers pics and the headset and BB were not included.

So, my dream is an all-Campy build, but that might not be possible. A mix of parts might be the way to go for now. Been shopping around e-bay for ideas beyond Campy and I like the bits from Soma Fabricators, who have everything needed for a nice build. I already purchased their Major Taylor track bars for the build and they are simply beautifully built, so I'm feeling good about this company.

So things are still pretty much up in the air and I'm still open to ideas. This is the fun part really!

Thanks for your interest!

PS - I just saw iab's post above, and yes, I do desperately want that Campy group, but the problem is...well..., it's, it's my wife! There, I said it, are you happy?

Yeah, those look almost divorce worthy.

Sounds like you have some good (and less problematic) ideas. Looking forward to seeing how it develops.

I don't need much so I'll settle for:

A mint 1972 Paramount P-13 in Cool Lemon.
Time and energy to wear out 2 sets of tires.
Lose 15 lbs. (The last two might be inter-dependent)

The one thing on my mind this year that's easy for others to pick out is a Garmin 800. That and the time to map out and ride some exploratory routes around my new home turf.

...and a blank check for a custom, of course.

Dear Santa....

1) 1978 Road bike. 56cm. Light and responsive, but comfortable enough for a century. Surprise me.
2) Santa Cruz Bronson, Carbon C in green.
3) Lose another 25lbs
4) More free time

Cut out anything with corn syrup, all processed foods, sugars, most dairy, processed (white) flour and really watch the alcohol consumption.

No gatorade when you ride, stick to water.

Take a multi-vitamin.

Keep riding 150 miles or so per week.

You'll be down to a fighting weight by April.

edit: The Bronson carbon c is an amazing bike.

I would consider an XO1 version, but I am loving my Niner bigtime.

All I want is one of those show bikes Vanilla made years back. You know the one! It had the raised chrome brand name, in cursive. I 'll take one in 60cm with cantilever mounts and room for 37 tires,,,,BD

Well;

1) A cure for Type 2 diabetes (Always listen to your doctor when they tell you that you're pre-diabetic. Don't think you can push your luck. It does run out)
2) The proper focus to finally narrow down the number of hobbies I insist upon having, in turn making more time available to ride.
3) Pair of vintage Italian 27" or 700C, 36 hole clincher rims.
4) Full chrome Tange fork for 27"/700c wheel.
5) Mid '60's vintage Italian 26.6 seatpost.
