please tell me about this brake lever!

I picked up this single lever on ebay, pretty cheap I think. Seller didn't know what it was; another person commented it was from a 50's Schwinn.

The lever is aluminum, and the lever body is aluminum. The rest of it is steel. The band fits a 7/8" bar.

I'd like to pick up another one like this. Does anyone know who made it, what model bike it came on, in what years?

This one is kind of close: (not sure how safe the website is however)

The second hole in the body made me think of a parking brake option, some used to have a spring loaded plunger pin that acted as a parking brake, some newer bikes might still have that option.

Yeah, that's pretty much my take on it as well. I'm thinking a pair of these would look great on something like a Lauterwasser bar. One, though... not so much!

(in other words, *bump*)

Looks like an old trike brake, with the option for a parking brake as has been said.

Thanks! Yeah, I considered the parking brake idea, and it doesn't hold up. You can't pull the the lever far enough to open up the second hole. I thought the second hole could be for changing the amount of cable pull, but that doesn't work either; the second hole is a different diameter than the first hole. And anyway, to change the amount of pull you'd want to have a second hole in the lever itself, not in the part that holds the lever.
