Can anyone ID this Raleigh?

I caught a glimpse of this on CL and am just wondering if anyone can ID this Raleigh. I am not really looking for another bike right now but it caught my eye...

Without better pictures, it is very hard...

FOr some reason, and I cannot put a finger on it, I dont' think this is a Super Course...it just doesn't look/feel right for that...but...again, very hard to tell...I know that, often, CL does not provide great pictures...but...does the listing add anything? Any details?

The listing says that the owner picked it up from an old friend. He doesn't seem to know much and I posted the best picture. Here is the full listing...

Wow, if it's truly a mid-sixties Raleigh, it's certainly worth the asking price of $150. But I wonder if it isn't a bit newer than that . . . . Lovely old bike, though. Wish I lived closer, I'd be handing him twenties.

That sure seems to be the model! It really looks like a beautiful bike and it is still available... I am just wondering if it is worth the 2+ hour drive.

Only you can make that determination. Super Course bikes enjoy a reputation on the forum for nice riding, comfortable bikes. That one appears to be mostly original as I spy a Brooks saddle, OEM style bar tape, and the original brake lever hoods. You'd likely want to change out the Simplex Delrin derailleurs if they haven't been already changed out.

For $150 you couldn't really go wrong.

Thanks cb400bill. I already have a coffee '73 Super Course with the Delrin Simplex shifters that I haven't begun to work on. Very little work needed but for simple things such as swapping out the shifters. Do you know what shifters would work on the braze-ons? If I can part with a couple of other bikes I may make the trip for the TT.

Yeah, it is tubular tires alright. They tend to collapse tightly against the rim and look wide side to side and thin top to bottom(when flat). If you haven't got it yet, you had better start driving now and snag it.,,,,BD

I just may! I just need to get rid of a couple of others first in order to hide this one from my wife.

Hard to tell from the photos but it looks like the shifters might be clamped on meaning there are no braze-ons.

No braze-on shifters on that model at any point, and from that bad pic, it doesn't look like they're the original Simplex but some upgrade.

Capella lugs were included in the 1973-74 Super Course TT.

Ooh la la; it's in Flamboyant Red. Nice bike!

My company car is a minivan... I can use it for whatever and they pick up the gas as well. So I can range far and wide.

Pic 4 of the ad shows an "S" on the top tube. I'd imagine "uper Course" follows.

After all this, it does appear to be a Super Course TT...did you go get it yet???? :-)

Also...the DT SL look like Suntour shifters to me...anyone else think so?

Or the black covers were removed/fell off. I can't tell if it's the 23-1/2 or the 25-1/2 but is looks like it's all stock.

They are - they're the same Suntour shifters I've got on my Trek. Which implies that the whole Simplex gear-changing system has been upgraded.

I really want to go get it but it takes some seriously planning with schedules and all. It is 23 1/2" and it does look great. The thing is I have to make a choice between the TT and a PX10 that popped up much much closer by for double the price of the TT. Still a deal but I can't swing both right now... Anyone else interested because it may take me a few weeks to make that trip.
