Anyone know about Pirelli tubular tires?
In the mid 80s, before I left Italy, I stocked up on some tubular tires. I had wanted Clements, but by then Pirelli had taken over. I ended up buying some rather nice tubs with the label "Pirelli - Racing Professional". The shop owner, who I had a good relationship with, told me that they were silk and equivalent to Clement Criterium Setas. I can attest to them clearly being well made and riding as well as Clements. Anyhow, I still have a few pair left and was considering either mounting them or selling depending on what sort of demand there would be.
Anyone have any knowledge of the specs on these tires? Google is little help because any combination of search terms gives me a few hundred thousand hits on mostly car and motorcycle tires.

Not made by Pirelli, but for them.
Verify they hold air and sell them off.
Last pair I saw on ebay that were NOS sold for a handsome sum.
I saw them rarely in the 70's. They were cool, in the way Pirelli radials on your Import car were.

The Finest (auto) tire (I know! I know! We'll get to bikes in a minute.) was the U S Royal Master of the 60's.
Vintage Dominion Royal Master tire | other parts, accessories | London | Kijiji
Of course, on my bike; TUFO Tubeless tubs - S 33 Special.
Regards,
J T

+1 on the Tufo's, been running S33 Pro's, S33 Specials, Carbon Composites, S3 Lites, C S33 Pro's, you name it.
That being said, I may be interested in a set of Pirelli's, could be kinda cool. I wonder if the hipsters would give me cred?

Don't remember seeing them at all back in the day, but that was early 70's for me.
My old Frejus showed up with original Pirellis on the sew up rims, circa early 60's,
but I don't remember the model, and they were petrified toast.

Even if they've been stored "right" all these years, if the inners were latex, they could be deteriorated.
The stuff just rots easily, of course.
Be careful.
