Trek vermilion red touch up

Does anyone have a good suggestion for touch up paint for a Trek in "vermilion red?" It's not totally clear from these photos (the seller's), but the paint is pretty dinged up.

Just the usual; nail polish.

I normally take the fork right in with to Walgreens with me and the nice ladies there make a great fuss about finding the right shade for me.

Sometimes I have to blend two different colors to get the match, which is a PITA when you've got a a really dinged up bike. Dropping X drops of color 1 and then Y drops of color 2 and mixing them together and then on the bike before it dries... rinse, repeat. If you've never done it before, it takes some practice. I lay it on pretty thick, then sand smooth with 600 -1500 grit wet/dry paper and then with fine cut rubbing compound, glaze, wax...

Thanks! I rode it to work today. Needs some dialing in, but a very nice rider. It was obviously much loved by the previous owner.

I see the nice black Cyclone RD but cant tell the year and model. Have you run the SN for year/model at vintage trek?

The bike. Sorry for the mixup.

My '80 Centurion Elite has that RD. You dont see them all that often.

ETA: ok, just saw the bike in the values forum.

I can check the serial later today, but I'm certain that it's an 1983. That was the only year for this color scheme according to the catalogs.

I really like the Cyclones. Normally it takes me a few rides to really get a feel for a new drivetrain, but these were crisp from the get go. They must have been an upgrade by the PO.

More photos to come.

I had one exactly like yours, an '83, sold it in a downsizing moment.

I think it was switched out by the previous owner. There are some other non-original parts.
