I do not know too much about English bikes, but you might look at some 70's Condor models like the Italia. This reminds me of something along those lines, sorry cannot pin-point though.

Wow - you guys have come up with some great contributions! Some of those are downright mouthwatering. Interesting are the variations in finish/clean up work when all the clothes are off, huh?

That's great. I'm not sure I put together that he built your Waterford until now for some reason... I know you're a proponent of his work. Certainly at the top of my 'someday' list. Both yours and the pictured above strike my eye very well, along with the rest of his. Handsome stuff.

Those are from when you commissioned the Marnati, right? Never seen that lugset in the flesh before. Nice

Frank Paino made pantographed bikes but made mostly custom frames sold without components, this is one of them from the late 70's or very early 80's
Apologies there not very macro shots.

^ Lugs is lugs as far as I'm concerned - nice set of pics there. I find the pic of the BB shell showing the hole in the bottom particularly striking.
I never realized just how many pins seemed to go into constructing one of the old "screwed and glued" frames.

Yep the gear cables come out through the BB, unlike the road bike. I had to make the cable guides coz they didn't come with the frame.

My unknown French frame, Reynolds 531 metric, but came to me with a Columbus sticker, a Tange fork and a 68mm BB apparently rethreaded to Italian. If anyone has an idea, I'd love to know.
Interesting tab up front, but not in the usual number tab position. Small half-moon front shifter clamp anti-slide under the TT, and I think Nervex s32 lugs. Takes a 26.6 seatpost, so metric 531EL maybe? I had it built as a single speed, added a few gears recently. I like the way this frame rides, I wish I knew what it was.
