Naked lugs
Are you involved in a complete, down-to-the-bare-metal restoration or just happen to enjoy honing your repainting skillz? Got pics of your paint-less subject? Share it here - let's see your bare-naked frames!

Artful pics, Jeff!
Best I could find is a few phone-camera shots of my Lambert; the only bike I've ever taken down to bare metal. It was two years ago, and I can still smell the "Aircraft Grade" paint remover. Never again! Since then it's just wetsand the old paint smooth and shoot the primer over it. Much less hassle. And fumes.

No show, just go!
Didn't want to spend a lot of money on this World Sport but the bike had plenty of scratches and surface rust so I stripped it to bare metal. Lugs are about as mundane as humanly possible. Used self-etching primer and auto paint from rattle can. Looks presentable.

The lugwork on my Walter Croll was nothing fancy, but the pieces add up to a decent riding frameset. The Reynolds frameset had been sitting unpainted in the basement of Grand Performance for over fifteen years when I acquired it. I took it to Alex at ATrain and he added canti posts, reworked the brake bridge, added eyelets and a nifty stainless chainstay protector. I'll see if I can't find the after pics later when I have some time.

No name other than the "custom" head badge that was on the frame, so I will call this one a "Harman."

Not totally bare, with primer on it. 1974 Raleigh International. I've been painting it for years and am still not done.

About as "naked" as you can get.
