C&V themed "Mancave" photos?

I've recently bouht a house that has not only a garage but an attached 10x10 bonus room. VCT floors and no A/C yet but has one window and so much potential.

I've got plans to drywall the garage and will be adding some built ins for car and bike workshop use but instead of storage i've gotten into the idea of finally having a "mancave" (for lack of a less tacky term).

I'll definitely have:
TV/DVD
Small couch/seating
Desk (for future artwork small hobbies)
floorspace for Rower and indoor Bike trainer for fitness (maybe yoga mat) for my wife and I to use.

I'd like some ideas on interior decor, artwork for the walls, interesting touches you may have done.
I'll have a garage wall with 6 bikes on it and a full workbench and toolboxes for auto/bike so I'm thinking of keeping this room more liveable and "nice" reading/sports/escape room.

Window A/C unit for summer and a mini-fridge may materialize.

Post your pics here!

Mine's a complete mess right now. Upstairs in the shop is a decent size room that is also partly my office (I telecommute). But I also have an old, comfortable chair, older 29" tv with a vhs player, dvd player and wii (for netflix). My stereo is a 1994 Kenwood KR-V6040 receiver paired with a Kenwwod 5 disc cd player and dual cassette deck. I have 4 vintage speakers (not real high quality) for sound. I use a window a/c unit in the summer (I sit under a metal roof) and have a microwave for lunches. Finally there's a couple of book shelves and a display case for my die cast cars and models. It's all guarded by my shop cat.

In the winter my Nishiki is on the indoor trainer but if I set it up right I can actually get 3 bikes on trainers in there.

My area of the basement is a bunch of stereo, bass and guitar gear.

I keep saying I'm going to put up some of the old posters and flyers I've accumulated- but I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Its actually an L shaped room.

I initially hung all my bikes in it and some frames. I'll leave the frames on the wall and clean up the rest to maximize space.

Here it is in storage mode.

The shop side of my basement is 12 x 45. It has walk in closets at one end, one holding bike tires and frames, the other holds all the DeWalt and other power tools, as well as surplus plumbing fixtures and AV cabling.

The shop is decorated with vintage University of Michigan football and basketball photos I acquired from when I brokered a downtown hotel. There is even a team photo with a much talked about soon to be ex San Francisco 49er coach.

A 24" LED TV is hooked up to an Altec Lansing computer speaker system. If I want music, I just swap the IPod for the TV.

Pics after the new year.

Ah -- space, the final frontier. The price I pay for living in a very desirable neighborhood is the modest size of my house: 1400 sq. ft. of living space, added-on 2-car garage (with two cars in it), and woman cave (wife's art studio, converted original 2-car garage). The nearest thing I have to a man cave is our elder son's former bedroom, which is now my home office, and the garage when I push the cars back to set up my bicycle shop stand or to access my workbench.

My cave - complete with an HD projector for those cold gaming nights when I can't go ride! Built-in entertainment system, covered in flames, speakers mounted into the ceiling, theatre lights, and more flames on the walls.

Cool setup @s0ul_chicken; what's that on the bottom right of the pic? @John E - I too have two cars in the garage. I like having the cars inside but then again it keeps me from really rocking out the larger garage space. Oh well. Better than many around who seem to only have box-filled garages.

One could do worse than to emulate @Gunnar Berg and his "Growlery"

A couple of moths ago I spent a slow evening at work going through a couple years worth of his blog and coveting his Kvale, his Galmozzis, his mancave...

That is a coat hanger that the Mrs. purchased for me, but never hung it up - looks like a series of gear shifters to hang your goods up on.

I'm not sure the wife would let me do that, but I like it.
I'm working on getting the garage storage set up right now and will soon begin working on it. I've got a gallon of white paint already I think I can just tint a color and get teh walls ready.

Got the tv/netflix setup now and dug out my space heater. Already enjoying it.

Here's a house near here that just went on the market. It was built for RVs, cars and motorcycles but I'm sure it could easily be adapted for bicycle storage and repair:

Victoria Luxury Estate | Victoria Luxury Estate

Starting with the kitchen: make sure your spouse falls in love with the kitchen then she/he will be more willing to allow you the man cave:

Then of course, is your private domain:

[h=3]Workshop & Garage[/h]This unbelievable workshop garage is a perfect space for any project. Everything you need is right here, including lifts, tool rooms, space for the RV and 5 overhead doors.
  • Over 3600 sq ft
  • Tool Room
  • RV Bay with Hook Ups
  • 5 Overhead Doors
  • Full Bathroom
  • 4 Post 18,000 lbs Truck/Car Lift
  • 2 Post 16,000 lbs Truck/Car Lift
  • Motorbike Lift
  • Tire Changing Machine
  • Tire Balancing Machine
  • Infloor Heating
  • Sonos Sound System & 3 TV Ready
  • 220 and 110 Plug-ins Every 10 ft
  • Wall Hung 80 Gallon, 170 PSI Air Compressor
  • 100 amp Welder Plug-in
  • 400 amp Breaker with 2 Sub Panels

That just looks like a place to run a "home" business. Not a place to enjoy a hobby etc. My hobby doesnt need to be staffed by 3 other dudes.

If there are outlets every 10 feet, why do they need all the extension cords?

I agree with thenomad, the size becomes a burden.

Man-cave? The nearest thing I have to one of those is the dining room table. And anything I leave on it long enough gets "straightened up" so that most likely I will never see it again.

Nah, the TR-250 was 1968 only, IIRC. That would be a first-year TR6. It's gotta' be a 6 with those wheels.
