They'd probably let Schwinn 10-speeds in, if that helps.

I'll be doing the long ride on this. Although with a 14-28 FW, beefier wheels, and 27mm tubs. It came with a beautiful set of yellow label Fiamme's with the valve hole grommet which I do not want to bang up on the unpaved sections. But I have a pair of correct hubs laced to some Nisi's that will work.

If you caught a flight out to San Fran for the weekend, I'm sure we could find some way to get you down to the event and I’d swap choices and let you borrow my BG (I’d ride my Singer instead)..

I hope to do the 60 miler.
Here's my 1983/4 Benotto 850 Paris-Roubaix. Original except the soft goods. Cranks are 144 bcd so I'll try a larger 28t freewheel.
Will I be DQ'ed for the new yet vintage looking saddle?

Our son's soccer schedule is aggressive this year, as we are penciled in up to my eyeballs with tournaments around the midwest and the coasts.

I'll be on my '82 Medici riding the long course. Pictures will be posted when I put the Campy SR back on it.

There's a Davidson that is making its way out of the rafters today to begin the build.
But the big question? When will registration open? Since UK registration is already open, it doesn't look like its one date for registration for the globe. Any hints?

I am a bit concerned. Anticipating the possible hurdles to make an event like this happen in California… it's about 11 weeks out, might be a roll of the dice to get things approved with a reasonable lead time to the scheduled event date. I really doubt they can get a closed course. Which means intersections would function as normal, requiring stops and such. At best, I could see sections of the course being sequestered.

BTW, in Italy, the course is not closed. There are some controls at major intersections, and a but there are still cars on almost all sections of the roads, including the unsaved portions.

I'm not casting doubt here. I just need to plan my time so I have internet access to register.

We listed message below on the L'Eroica California thread and would like to share with people on this thread as well.
Thank you for being patient. We are getting ready to open our registration on the 16th of Feb. Our web design group is located in UK and they do all our design work (it means all the Eroica events listed on eroica.cc). Therefore, it takes some time to get things done. The Eroica Britania and L'Eroica Italia already had their websites from before and they are live now. But we are new and our team in UK is working hard on our website as well as Eroica Spain and Eroica Japan at the same time.
We are able to open our Facebook page as you have seen it already and everything is moving according to our plan.
We will be sending our first newsletter in the next few days to the people who have registered their email addresses on our website Eroica California 11-12 APRIL 2015. This will explain how we handle the registration process for Eroica California. Also the detailed route maps will be available for everyone to view on our website.
From here on please send your questions, concerns and comments, etc. to our email address info@eroicacalifornia.com. But please wait until you receive our first newsletter. This letter should clear up most of your questions and/concerns. Thank you for waiting.
The event will be fabulous and we are all excited about it. Hope to see you in April.

Thanks for the info! I will the other places for further updates.
And for anyone who loves old bikes, shed a tear for the Davidson. Closer inspection showed pinholes throughout the rear triangle. It might handle the short ride, but Im not gonna chance it. Time for plan b.

This is the i am working on getting ready a late 50's Bertin. It is missing original 2 cable controlled derailer so the suntour would have to do. The bike is also missing the lever back on the front derailer as pictured in the drawing. I have regreased all bearings and will use original tires and bar tape gear and break cables and cable housing that it came with. This gives it a real vintage flare. I will probably replace the non vintage seat.

I am hoping to rebuild my 1974-75 Peugeot PX-10 LE in time for April's ride. I have a Simplex drivetrain and low-flange Campagnolo hubs and tubular Super Champion rims for wheels. Mafac Competition brakes! I might consider getting wider tires than Clement Super Condor, but it's what I have at the moment.

the bike I might use for the 2015 L'Eroica California
I am hoping to rebuild my 1974-75 Peugeot PX-10 LE in time for April's ride. I have a Simplex derailleurs, Stronglight 93 drivetrain, low-flange Campagnolo hubs and tubular Super Champion rims for wheels. Mafac Competition brakes! I might consider getting wider tires than Clément Super Condor, but it's what I have at the moment. I also don't know if a 45 tooth chainwheel and 24 tooth low gear will be enough for me to tackle those climbs!
