Trying to decide if I will strip it and paint it. The green is not original.

@Flog00 - those are tire guides to guide the tire between the caliper arms during changes.

It's more likely that I'll strip it down and repaint it some color variation of my Tomii.

Here's what I found under the green paint.

Should I build it up as is, or send it off to paint?

^ My opinion is that the chroming is not quite nice enough to run as a bare frame, so I'd paint it.

Paint it but leave chrome stays and fork ends. All chrome is too much.

Yep, this would be my choice. Looks nice all chrome but to my eye it's too much.

Paint it whatever color you want, leave the chrome "socks", but use the chevron style chrome/paint divider tape as a nod to the original paint scheme, as seen here: http://www-hsc.usc.edu/~rpinder/images/ro9.jpg

This is the Flamboyant Red color/paint scheme that was original to that bike: http://www-hsc.usc.edu/~rpinder/images/ro10.jpg

Whichever you do will be stunning!

I would go for the paint however...agree with @JAG410 on the chrome socks and chevron style divider...but...I like the green that it was more than the original red! Of course, you lose the nickname for it!!! :-)

    Personally...

I like it like that. I might see if there's a way to polish what's there- otherwise, it's pretty styley as is.

Seeing that I'm in recovery mode after my Tomii bike purchase, I will build this up as is and see how it looks.

Nice thing is that I can easily tear it down and send it for paint when my money is not so funny.

When I paint it, I really like this bike....

Good approach. Agreed the above is a looker.

I'm slowly working through a very similar build, though a bit lower on the quality meter. What rims are you going with??
