I regret to inform that I am stuck here in sunny california. Great riding, but the drought is gonna make things rough. Headwinds and sunshine sure beats snow.

Took the little dog for her first walk on the RailTrail Thursday, the first mile and a quarter or so. Snow was 8 to 14 inches deep for a good 50 yards in a couple of places, several more smaller patches blocking the entire path including by the entrance at the parking lot & toss in random fingers of ice and snow jutting out here and there.
Thinking of riding out by there tomorrow. It's in the mid-50's today.

I drove by the rail trail in Milford Thursday - very snow covered, tho the rain we had last nigh might have made an impression.

We tried to stay out of the wind today by riding the NRRT. Had to turn around because of snow. Round trip 0.35 miles.

I got out today in the wind, first ride of the spring. Bike got blown around pretty good on the high, open roads near here. Still had a great time, got in about 25 miles.
I'm going to bring this one to the CCRT, I finished the rebuild in January and had only used once since then. I like this one, going to get lots of miles this season.

Well I stuffed the mt bike into the hatch and headed over to the CCRT. Not as windy as yesterday but still a good gale, most noticeable along the ponds and bogs. Only went a bit past the 8 mile marker. There's a number of places to get off road on the way back. So I did.
Worst road conditions were the first tenth of a mile, most of it with snow completely across the path and again just before the 1 mile marker. At the approach to the circle in Harwich the path was again blocked by snow and coming out of the circle there were a couple of fingers of snow across the path. And that was it.
Looking real good for the ride!

I've mentioned this to Jim already but if anyone in this group is interested in a mid '70's Peugeot mixte I can bring it down to the CCRT. It's free and in nice shape, make a nice rebuild with better components.

Unless it's 38F and pouring down in buckets.

Argh, alas and alack. Is the CCRT ride really locked in to Apr 18?? If so we will not be able to make it. One of my brothers is turning 60 and his wife is throwing a surprise party which we have promised to attend. Is there any way please pretty please we could do this ride, or perhaps a Second CCRT Spring Opener Ride, a week later? Hint: Check the long range weather forecast. It is supposed to be raining on the 18th.

Really?
For Christ's sake, do you remember last year.? The scheduled weekend was perfect. The substitute weekend we rode on sucked.
I'll miss you, and especially Sharon, but if I have to ride alone I'll do it.

That's a kind thing to say. Thank you. Yeah, it sucks that we can't make it and it sucks that Accuweather's current prediction for Dennis is "Rain at times, high 57", not bad but not great. We were so looking forward to this ride too. Sharon wants to know what to do with all the oatmeal cookies.

It's tradition that the weather sucks on the spring ride. Follow tradition!
However, is there any flexibility for riding on Sunday instead of Saturday? I'm in NYC Thursday and Friday (bike related, possible breaking news) and might be a little rough around the edges on Sat.

Which weekend are you taking about? April 18/19? On that Sunday we will be in the big silver (actually blue) bird heading home.

I was talking about the 19th. But if for some reason I don't make it back from NYC on time for the 18th., I'd be up for something the following weekend.

Far as I know, I plan to be there unless my travels from NY get delayed. Raleigh Pro is my ride of choice.
