Back in the early 80's all the music venues were all free at Summerfest. I don't even remember if we paid for any general admission to the festival back then.........I remember seeing all kinds of top performers for free! Jazz, Rock Pop, you name it. Those were the good ole days of Summerfest.

Unless you want to spend a LOT of time getting back out. I lived in Waukesha for eight years, and the getting lost stories still don't get old after being gone for eleven.

Ben's and South Shore Cyclery. South Shore has a neat little museum.
Clinton Street Antiques on 1st St. in Walker's Point near da big Polish Moon.
Cempazuchi on Brady for the torta cubana, then Kopp's for custard.
If you go to Waterford, you may as well drive a bit further to Adrian's Frozen Custard in Burlington.

The downtown is still legendary for that.
Hell, I still have no idea what's north of St. Paul... that just don't make sense to me up there.

[QUOTE=The Golden Boy;17589204]Is that after they changed all the one way streets?

The streets changed while we were there, and they were still confusing. Everyone we knew in Waukesha had a city street map near their phone in order to plan how to get from one place to another. Landmarks could be a hoot when talking to locals: "turn when you get to the big cow". I wondered about that one for three years until I stumbled onto the big cow one day while running errands.
