Selling my first C&V..... How hard was it?.

Well i have been living in the Netherlands for the last 3 years and my room, cave will have to empty as i will be returning back to Australia. Being here i have purchased some bikes that i would never part with if i was in my own house. Its so hard collecting and being a nomad. hahahaha
I remember when i started my collection and friends asked if i will sell the bike and just thinking about it at the time i got these pains in my stomach...
Thinking of the hours you sit there cleaning, greasing, lubing, poloishing and looking at it for hours.....

This is one of my favorite Koga i have had the chance of riding and restoring.
As long as the next person that takes the tamed beast, respects and adores like i have

That is beautiful, too bad you can't ship them home. Did you check Bike Flights?

I found it can be really easy to sell C&V bikes andparts if you don't mind losing lots of money. Breaking even can take some time.

Hi Bianchi Girl, thanks for the heads up on sending the bikes back home. I am going to keep the Bianchi X4, Colnago Chic and the Colnago 1992 Thron. The bikes that are going are all the Kogas.
Will post pics of the other Kogas in time.
As for the return as long as i dont add the hours i should make some profit off these . Only because i am in the land of bikes, the parts were much easier to obtain from what it seems in America and Canada reading the forum.

first bike i sold to a college girl, she handed me a check, i said, "thanks," walked away, glanced at the check, and saw it read $3.50. i yelled back, "wait! you've misplaced the decimal!" she corrected it, but i was a little worried 'til it cleared.

she's the only one who's tried to pay by check.

every other bike i've shown has been purchased, except one, and that buyer ended up buying another bike from me.

[knock wood.]

Thanks, it got a lot attention when i stopped on a ride for a coffee at some random town.. I might also note how much of a nice ride it was.
Now thinking about how nice a ride, i might just take it out on the weekend if the weather is good as long it is not sold by then.

I was wondering if anyone that had to relocate and could not hold on to all their collection, how hard was it to start selling the collection?

Well, I have tried to sell my first...but couldn't let it go and told the guy that was test riding it I had changed my mind.

Good thing that he was a friend of mine and didn't mind.

+1
I just pulled the ad from the site I had placed it. I couldnt go through with it as I had 2 calls asking about the parts. Thinking that the bike will be made into parts, i will find a way to taking these bikes to Australia with me.
