Shimano Tri Color Rear Hub ?

I have been looking high and low for a rear 7 speed HG rear in NOS or almost new. Found a VGC SET on the bay, my question is 140.00 inc ship a crazy price for this hub (since I have a NOS front, I am looking at this as the cost for the rear)?

I need it to finish a complete Tri Color build.

Seems steep to me. I bought a complete 8 speed tricolor wheelset with Mavic rims from a forum member for $125 recently.

Let me guess, was "Pb*bikes" the seller? I've seen a couple nice Tri-Color rear hubs come and go in the C&V for sale forum -- keep an eye out there.

Same here. Rims were CXP I think.

Sounds pretty steep, but if its the last piece of the puzzle or something and you are going NOS on everything else ---- go nuts

Seems way steep to me. There is a forum member named RobbieTunes who might still have a stash of them. I believe I got two complete sets from him over the last few years. Put up an ISO search. They're around. If all else fails, and you are exceedingly desperate, I have one here, which will take a month in transit due to my location.

Edit: 32 hole

I'll usually source a hub like that from an old wheel that gets discarded at the shop due to rim damage.

But if you're on a short timetable and just need a hub, then I'd bet that someone here has one they'd sell.

Price seems steep, I wouldn't pay it, but that said, these hubs are arguably the high point in Shimano's long and chequered history of component design. Beautiful, smooth and shiny.

Take a more common 8s and convert it to 7s.

$140? For that price I've been offered a Columbus SLX framed bike with a complete Tricolor gruppo including the 8-speed STI shifters. Anyway, before you commit, I would want to make sure that you do in fact get the HG and not the Uniglide freehub. But the freehub conversion is not that complicated.
