Brooks Cambium C17 Denim: A Teen from the '70s Couldn't Resist

Last week I sold a bike, and not wanting to add to the fleet, I made an impulse buy that doesn't require as much room to store. Today it arrived and I'm thrilled. I have no idea what bike I'll mount it to at this point, but who knows what the future holds.

The color! The feel! The nostalgia! Maybe it needs to go on a red, white and blue Bicentennial Varsity?

A couple of well placed, colorful patches would make for a more authentic look. Like the cover of that Neil Young album.

Back in the 70s, I had my motorcycle seat covered in denim. My Brooks was leather though.

I knew this was coming with the Cambium saddles, it was just a matter of time......
I'm sure they have camo and Paisley prints already being reviewed by the product R&D.marketing group at Brooks. that's the advantage of having a fabric cover, so easy to do all sorts of stuff with color and graphics to extend the roduct.
What's next,........batik in psychedelic patterns?

I'm a '76 HS graduate as well. Every pair of jeans I ever owned in the '70s, whether full length or shorts, had a fringe.

I think you'll really like it PB! It feels like a wonderfully broken in b-17, without worry about rain. I was skeptical, but I really like mine.

I actually owned a Chevette, back in the day. Another winner.

I have the original C17, so I know I'll like the way it rides. Just need to decide what color frame it would look best on.

How about on my '71 Paramount?

I'm probably in the minority, but that's a really cool saddle.

...and as soon as it shows up on CL used for $50 I'm all over it.

Ah, nostalgia;
Back in college, I was driving a 1982 Jeep CJ-5 with the "Levi Denim" interior.
(Really just a textured vinyl in a blue denim-look color).

Outrageously comfortable. Comfortabler than my B17.

The 90's weren't bad either for double denim disasters!

I'd be happy to ride this saddle though, I'm anxious to try the Bregal. Perhaps on one of those stars-and-stripes C'dales
