April 100+ mile goal thread

BF,

I had fun last month tracking with all of you the issues faced, the mileage made and the goals we set. I would like to invite everyone to do it again this month.

Post your month total mileage goal for April '15 and let's all help each other reach our goals.

Here's to everyone making their goals!!!

I will post my goal. Last month I originally thought 100 miles was going to be a challenge for me and to my surprise, I was able to make much more. I ended up doing 320 miles.

I will set my goal for 350 miles this month in hopes to do better than last.

Today, I found a nice 1 hour trainer video than had me pushing my usual pace much higher and I feel great! Being so close, I decided to continue pedaling a little further to make 20.1 miles

Goal: 350 miles (including trainer = T)

4/1 -- 20.1 T miles

MTD: 20.1 miles

I got around 170 last month. That's the most I've logged in a month yet. With the restarting of our group rides (14 and 33 mile options) and the ability to ride outside more with the improvement of the weather, I'm going for a minimum of 200 this month. 1st race is just over 6 weeks out, and I have a lot of work to do (and a foot to continue to rehab)

That being said... my planned ride this morning got rained out... lol!

Thanks Frank for getting it going this month! My goal is 650 miles. With 4 weekends this month should be rather doable.

Between family life, work, and our crazy north east weather I only managed 90 some miles last month. For April, I'm setting the bar low with 100 miles and one 50-miler, since I have a two weeks back-to-back out of town for a training seminar and conference.

Hopefully the weather holds out. Starting with April I have a goal of a century a month. Still need a little work to be ready for the first one (Minnesota Ironman Bike Ride) on April 26th.

Made my March goal (263/250 miles), April goal is 500 miles.

Goal for the year is 5000 real, non-trainer miles and if my lowlander lungs can adapt enough during a cycling vacation to Colorado, Pike's Peak. Not sure how that'll go, though.

I'm in for 200 miles this month. Hopefully I'll get my first ride in this weekend. I haven't ridden since October except for one short trainer ride, and some time on the recumbent at the gym.

If I am able to commute starting mid-month as I hope to do, I should sail past 200 pretty easily.

I want to say 200 miles outdoors and at least 5 hours indoors. But we're going to be gone for a week on vacation. Hoping to find a bike rental place where we are going and do some cruising. But for now goal is 150 miles outdoor and 4 hours inside. 200 outdoor if we can find a decent bike rental place where we are staying.

We are doing 2 20 mile group rides and a 23 mile city ride (Glendale family bike day if anyone lives in Arizona). So here's to hoping that I'm ready for 20+ miles on my Sirrus. Haven't cracked 20 since I stopped riding a comfort bike. So I haven't been in this harder saddle for 2+ hours yet at a stretch.

Total: 196.3 down, 0 (or 3.7 if we rent bikes the week of vacation) to go
4/2: 14.5 miles
4/3 9.1 miles
4/4: 2.9 miles Oof. Careful when trying to clip in uphill. Whacked my heel really good.
4/5: 25.6 miles
4/6: 1.5 miles. Going out again when my seatpost gets here so I can replace post/saddle
4/6: Ride number 2: 9.1 miles. Wife and I have been finishing our weekday rides with a negative split. This was my fastest solo mile yet at 3:36 and first time trying to ride on the big ring on a 3 ring chainset.
4/8: 9.2 miles
4/10: 20.1 miles
4/12: 24.9 miles
4/15: 4.4 miles doing some sprints into the wind
4/16: 14.2 miles
4/18: 24.3 miles
4/21 9.1 miles

Vacation mileage 27.4 total on 7 speed hybrids. Yuck. I'm buying a bike bag and bringing my Sirrus next time! We only rented 2 out of our 11 days. So overall I'm happy with my total. Going to aim for 250 miles in May including a 35 mile ride (almost 7 higher than my current single ride distance)

Next time I'll be able to update will be in May. Still nothing set in stone in terms of renting bikes on vacation so that may be it for me for the month.

Shooting for 200 miles this month. Had a horrible February and March, so to help keep me motivated in April, I'm doing the 30 days of biking... Home | 30 Days of Biking

April 01 = 7.81 miles.

MTD = 7.81 miles.

4/1 -- 15 mi mtn bike racing tonight

Mediocre performance racing this afternoon. Lots of grass, pollen, and dust in the air that locked up my lungs and made my eyes water causing difficulty focusing. Last lap could hardly see and I stuck close on the wheel of another racer to get me through some rough trail to the finish line. There were 40 of us in the class and I came in 28. Need to dial in asthma and hay fever medication to improve results next week.

Today I decided that I wanted to add something more to my workouts when I cannot get outside to ride. I am going to do a minimum distance for each trainer session. If the session ends short, I will continue at a decent gear until I reach my desired minimum distance with a firm cutoff at 6:20 AM (start at about 5 AM) or so. I WANT to set that minimum to 20 miles but I think I will set it initially for 16 miles since some of the hill climbing workouts can be real hard and yet cover little distance for me.

Today, I got another 21.1 miles on the trainer.

Goal: 350 miles (including trainer = T)

4/1 -- 20.1 T miles
4/2 -- 21.1 T miles

MTD: 41.2 miles

On Long Island, I would need 1,000 miles to climb 10,000 ft!! best of luck with your goal.

In May, you could just do the Grand Fondo NY (Campagnolo Gran Fondo New York 2014 in Fort Lee, NJ, United States | MapMyRide) and hit 8,800 ft of that IN ONE DAY!!

Only 2 short trips for work, so hopefully that doesn't cut down too much on my riding. Aiming for something over 200 miles.

4/2 - 12.2
