Best wheel set for a fixed gear commuter
Guys,
With gear on a daily commute I weigh in at @250lbs. I like riding Thickslicks but would like to know what wheel set would be good for me. It's about a ten mile daily commute on flat terrain. Not concerned about weight, looking for dependability and a smooth ride.
Thanks

It is really hard to go wrong with the tried and true Velocity Deep V for your commute, it is affordable and strong enough that tandem riders love them. Have it laced to what ever hub fits your budget but the Surly hubs are a great bang for the buck and once you wear out your first set of bearings you can replace the old with Phil Wood cartridges and been set for tens of thousands of miles.

A mountain bike wheel with a Tomicog. No threaded hub to strip.
